My wife used to work with people that went to high school with him. The stories of his heavy drug use/party lifestyle are pretty scary if true.

I didn't even realize it until I looked it up but the Reid family are Mormons too. Guess I should have known since Reid went to BYU and started his coaching career there. Sucks he has two kids who turned out to be junkies.

The Seahawks are going to give Terrell Owens a tryout. Since Pete Carroll arrived in Seattle the Seahawks have given a lot of receivers past their prime a shot. Some have worked out, like Mike Williams, who had a good 2010 season but regressed in 2011 and was released recently, and some have not, like Antonio Bryant, who was signed and released over a ten day span. They also have Braylon Edwards on their roster right now.

ESPN is saying that the NFL has offered Jonathon Vilma a deal to reduce his suspension from an entire season suspension to an 8-game suspension, and that if Vilma accepts the reduced suspension he has to drop his civil lawsuit against Roger Goodell. However, NFL.com is reporting that no such offer has been made, although an offer could be made in the future.

Edit: The NFL released the following statement:

“Today’s report about a settlement offer by the league to Jonathan Vilma is completely inaccurate,” the league said in a statement. ”No such settlement offer has been made. We will continue to respect the court proceedings on this matter and have no further comment at this time.”

so, for the first time ever i have NFL Network. comes with my free cable package which comes included in my rent (nice!) and i found out yesterday that they show EVERY. SINGLE. PRE-SEASON. GAME.

WTF.

that's just sick i mean, i love, love, love football, but man, that's extreme! and chances are, i will watch at least half of them because even though i know it's deranged to watch that much pre-season football, it's still football and you can never have too much

Ed Werder says Terrell Owens had a very good workout with the Seahawks and that they are negotiating a contract, with a deal likely. I don't know why the Seahawks would offer Owens more than the veteran's minimum. He needs the money and no other teams have showed any interest in him.

Just curious, but who is leading the Seahawks QB race? I assumed Flynn would win the job, but if he can't beat out Jackson and Wilson that says a lot about him.

It's now official that for the first time 3 rookie QBs will start on opening weekend(barring any injury in the meantime of course).

Weeden will become the 11th quarterback in 14 years to start a season opener for the Browns on Sept. 9.

Put another way, the last quarterback to start back-to-back openers for the Browns was Charlie Frye in 2006 and '07, and he played so poorly against the Steelers in the 2007 opener he was benched in the second quarter and traded to Seattle two days later.

Not all of the drama at the position is over. Shurmur said Monday that the pecking order behind Weeden would be determined in the preseason, meaning veteran Seneca Wallace could beat out incumbent start Colt McCoy to be the No. 2 quarterback entering the season.

I wouldn't mind having Chad Johnson on the team this season after all. He's a hard worker(which I didn't know), he's highly motivated after his horrible last season, he's excited to finally be wearing a Dolphins jersey, and his positive attitude can only be a good thing for his teammates.

I was in my fantasy draft a week ago with people I don't know and somehow we got to talking about Braylon Edwards. I said "Didn't the Seahawks just sign Braylon Edwards?" and someone responded "You mean where all WRs go to die?" I laughed so hard..

Mike Martz will be calling NFL games for Fox this year with play-by-play man Ron Pitts. Martz is replacing Jim Mora Jr.,who is now UCLA's head coach. Martz and Pitts are Fox's lowest team so they will be calling a lot of games which Fox deems least interesting.

LOL yea they get week 1 car/tb so if that game doesnt sell out (even with the 85%) probably only the carolina area will get it.

On the + side they can make mistakes & hardly anyone will know about it.
