I think the Bears should give Lovie one more season despite their ups and downs this season. It's just one of those years where a 10-6 record isn't good enough to make the postseason.

Bears fired coach Lovie Smith.

It's the first "wild card" of Black Monday. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears have already "sent out consent forms requesting permission to interview head-coaching candidates." Smith has enjoyed as much support from his players as any head coach in the league, but missed out on the playoffs in five of the past six seasons. While he's widely respected as a defensive guru, Smith's offenses have too often been a disaster. In particular, the passing game has held the rest of the team hostage for the majority of his tenure in Chicago. Smith ends up with an 81-63 record over nine seasons with the Bears. He should have little trouble finding work as a coordinator, or perhaps even head coach.

We made the playoffs once in the last six years, only 3 playoff wins in 9 years , an offense that is continually ranked 30th or worse, and 1-8 vs the Packers since Cutler has been here. etc..

Yup Lovie is gne maybe they now will get someone that can use Bush and Forte right and have more 2 back sets like they should have and screen passes to Forte to Open marshall

Per Jay Glazer:

The Bears have already asked for permission to interview Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. He's a very, very hot name right now

Last year McCoy interviewed twice with the Dolphins and turned down an interview with the Raiders. It would be very surprising if he doesn't getting a head coaching job within the next couple weeks.

That means that in dc 2 out of every 3 tvs that were on at the time had the game on.

The Redskins-Cowboys game got the biggest ratings in the seven-year history of NBC's Sunday Night Football.

Well a 44.6 is a similar TV rating to what the Super Bowl gets nationally every year. That's a monster number for a regular season game.
