Uhh Brady for 3 super bowls he had trash up until Welker/Moss.

Brees made all those saints wide outs, most of which like Deion Branch and friends fall flat without the stud QB.

Take Brady's 05 team when he threw for 4k David Givens, Deion Branch and Tim Brown (who was like 39) , those were his top 3 targets none of which hit 1k.

Brees 06 breakout season Henderson (still hasn't had a 1k season with that monster QB), Joe Horn on his last leg, and Colston whose solid, but again no Julio Jones, Fitz, CJ, exc.

I wouldn't consider Deion Branch or Troy Brown trash. And I certainly wouldn't consider some of the guys in New Orleans trash.

Sure, they're not playing with the top 2% of receivers, but they are playing with the top 20%. It's not like they have a bunch of guys that wouldn't be a #1 or #2 on most of the teams in the league.

Brown wouldn't have been bad 5-7 years prior to Brady, but he like Joe Horn was done. Branch... Well all anyone needs to do is look at those stats once he went on hiatus, and still went to a team with a fairly competent all star qb in Seattle. Its not like when Randy Moss went to the Raiders (yet still managed to put up 1k receiving with Kerry Collins. Something Branch continues to be unable to accomplish).

I mean Aldrick Robinson for the skins with 11 catches was 2 touchdowns short of Branches career best (5) . He was overrated because of Brady and those pats teams.

If we use TDs as a barometer for how good someone is, then Calvin Johnson wasn't very good last year.

Michael Griffin is being paid more than William Moore.

There is no justice in this world.

Boldin caught every crap pass from Flacco for huge plays and now the Ravens won't even pay him his existing contract. This isn't even a big contract, he's only due like 6m.

The Ravens are developing salary cap issues though, and at his age they feel he is expendable.

But it's a 7.5 cap hit, and they need room to resign a few guys on D.

What's funny is that Flacco says he supports Boldin, and that ownership should honor their original contracts, so we know what's gonna happen in a few years when his cap hit goes up to 25.

Flacco's cap hit in 2013 is low so they can afford to keep Boldin for the remainder of his contract.

Better yet, get rid of Boldin and see if Flacco really is worth 20m a year.

Then they clearly want to pay Flacco a lot of money to sit in 3rd place (sorry Browns).

Reports from 3 sources citing Mike Wallace to Miami is a done deal

Quote:
The Palm Beach Post hears from "someone (it) trusts" that free agent Mike Wallace to Miami is a "done deal."

ESPN, Sports Illustrated and USA Today have all insinuated as such over the past 24 hours, making the evidence that Wallace is planning to take his talents to South Beach overwhelming. Wallace's rep could drag talks out on Tuesday for the sake of squeezing a few extra dimes out of an obviously desperate team, but it doesn't appear anyone else has near the desire level to get a deal done.

Adam Schefter says the Vikings are discussing a Percy Harvin trade with the Seahawks. I'll be curious what kind of compensation the Vikings can get for Harvin, who is also going to want a new contract.

Edit: That moved quickly, apparently a trade is done for Percy to go to Seattle, per Jay Glazer. No word yet on what Minnesota receives, but it is expected to include Seattle's first round pick. The trade is contingent on Seattle and Harvin agreeing to a new contract in the next 48 hours.

Sounds like a bad idea to me, Minnesota is losing one of the best young receivers in the game and there are no great receivers in this draft. So he joins fellow former Vikings receiver Sidney Rice in Seattle, not sure if former Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson is also still there.

From the sounds of it the relationship between Harvin and the Vikings (and primarily coach Leslie Frazier) was so bad that there was no way he could stay. This move will reunite Harvin with Darrell Bevell, who was the Vikings offensive coordinator for Harvin's first 2 seasons before leaving for Seattle.

I would expect the Vikings to go hard after Greg Jennings and Mike Wallace now. I would also expect them to use a high pick on a receiver, because they are bare at receiver. Jarius Wright is their only signed wide receiver that had more than 200 receiving yards last year with Harvin traded, Michael Jenkins released, and Jerome Simpson a free agent.

Yup Deal appears done

Quote:

Seahawks acquired WR Percy Harvin from the Vikings in exchange for undisclosed draft-pick compensation.

So much for Rick Spielman's denials. The Seahawks will open the season with 24-year-old Russell Wilson throwing to 27-year-old Sidney Rice, and 25-year-old Harvin and Golden Tate, with 27-year-old Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. Already one of the league's premier defensive teams, Seattle's offense now rivals any in football in terms of explosiveness and playmaking ability. We expect Harvin to lead Seattle in receiving, and his fantasy value should remain among the top-15 wide receivers. While the fantasy effect on Rice and Tate is unlikely to be positive, it's a gigantic plus for Wilson's.

I don't think the 49ers ever had interest in Revis and this won't change that. They are too smart a franchise to give up the draft picks and money that Revis would command, particularly with Revis coming off a serious injury. This could make the 49ers more likely to re-sign saftey Dashon Goldson though.
