2013 regular-season schedule will be announced at 8 pm ET on Thursday (April 18).

It seems odd they didn't have the schedule ready today but it will be ready on Thursday.

Pat Summerall died Tuesday. He was 82.

That’s exactly how Summerall once told a writer he would craft the first sentences of his own obituary _ short and to the point.

He died in his hospital room at Zale Lipshy Hospital where he was recovering from surgery for a broken hip, a family friend confirmed.

3 hour show on NFLN thursday starting 8:00pm & ESPN has a show as well.

Thats what great about football all these fringe events.

Can you imagine any other sport doing this.

The Packers have signed Clay Matthews to a contract extension. Numbers aren't out yet, although Jay Glazer said it averages just north of $13 million per year, which would put the value over $65 million, although it's not known how much is guaranteed and if this replaces the year he had left on rookie deal or if it's added onto the rookie deal so he's signed for 6 more years.

Edit: It's an extension to his current deal, so he's signed for 6 years.

Apparently Matthews extension has $31 million guaranteed, and he will receive $22 million by the end of 2013 and $27 million in the next 12 months.

I am not that big into the schedule release..i already know who my pats are playing so i really don't care about when they play them. Only want to know first game and when the home opener is so i can take off work as i have season tix

Yup. I know who the Falcons are playing. I only care about when they're playing the teams the week of.

The Ravens will open the 2013 season at Denver in a Thurs night kickoff. Full NFL schedule to be released tonight

This isn't a surprise, although there had been talk that CBS had been fighting hard to keep that game.

CBS will also probably lose 1 or 2 of den/ne or den/nyg or den/ind to nbc as well.
