Part of Geno Smith's draft day fall may be explained by his reported inattentiveness and lack of interaction during some of his pre-draft visits.

In a report from Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole, two different sources said that Smith, selected in the second round by the New York Jets, spent time on his cellphone texting friends and checking out Twitter rather than interacting with coaches on the visit.

"All these other players who were in there were talking to the coaches, trying to get to know people and he was over there by himself," one of the sources said. "That's not what you want out of your quarterback."

Smith has already fired his agents, Select Sports Group, in the days after the draft, and now this report certainly does not paint the former West Virginia quarterback in a positive light.

Before Smith makes any more missteps, he would be wise to look at the career paths of Ryan Leaf, Vince Young and JaMarcus Russell in regards to where getting your NFL career off on the wrong foot leads to.

Not hard to see why he dropped into the 2nd round.

I said it was an absolute steal. That's not what I was disputing. I was simply saying that he was never a first round prospect.

If he had played with UT in 2012, he would've been the third best WR on the team behind Hunter and Patterson.

And Hunter went in the 2nd round - to us!

But like I've said, I was begging the Titans to draft Da'Rick in the 6th-7th, and I had figured he'd be gone by the 4th round.

Buddy Nix said we had a 1st/2nd round grade on him, and was pretty stunned no one drafted him at all. Not that I'm complaining, he's a Bill now.

McCarthy is shaking things up already this season!!

Bryan Bulaga is moving from RT to LT, Josh Sitton & T.J. Lang are flipping Guard positions, and there’ll be an open competition for the RT spot!!

My money is on Don Barclay……our 2nd year guy that stepped into that spot last season when Bulaga went down……will keep the position.

Thanks gawd Marshall Newhouse is out of the LT spot!!

The NFL players who vote on the top 100 players are just as stupid as the fans that vote on the Pro Bowl. They vote for a lot of players that were once great but now are well past their primes. Jacoby Jones was #88. Jones had a very good postseason but in the regular season he was a below-average receiver and good return man. Percy Harvin was #90 and had much better receiving and return stats while playing in fewer games due to injury. Patriots guard Logan Mankins was #82. Last season he was probably the Patriots third-best offensive lineman and was in and out of the lineup with injuries.

There's your problem... Taking what Buddy Nix says seriously. lol

Let's be real. Buddy Nix is a terrible GM. Normally I'd say the Titans' FO as a whole is a joke, but if you look at how our new GM has done this offseason without Mike Reinfeldt around, there's no denying he knows what he's doing. I'm a big fan of Ruston Webster and I hope he stays with us for many years because he's what this franchise is missing for years.

I couldn't disagree more. If you look at our roster when Nix took over and look at it now, we are a very improved football team. And I think you will really see that on the field this year now that Gailey and Wannstedt are gone. Nix has done a really good job drafting, and building us a powerful nucleus for the future. Mark my words, the Bills are coming.

Not true. When you vote for skins you're automatically accepted into Harvard beacuse you're so smart.

Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington was arrested for allegedly assaulting an ex-girlfriend. Washington is already suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy and this could easily end up getting that suspension lengthened by a couple games.

Mia Garcia of FOX 10 in Phoenix and other local outlets are reporting that Washington has been arrested on two counts of aggravated assault. Per the original police report, the alleged victim, Washington’s ex-girlfriend, showed “clear indications” of having been attacked and claimed that Washington had choked her.
