this statement makes me wonder if you are even a fan of the Texans

Schaub is...okay but the Texans really only have 2 consistent weapons on offense, that's asking a lot of any QB, even one on a team that usually has a stout defense.

he has 22,493 yards in 6 half seasons (half being what he is doing now which would make 7 seasons in Houston) he has 122 TDs and 73 Ints.. he has a 64% completion percentage .. a ton of teams would change drastically with stats like this.. so he is having a bad season and now he is classified as horrible and did nothing for the organization? just another case of couch wannabe football players that think the game is a breeze and they can go out there and do the job better

Tony Romo and Peyton Manning combined for 900+ yds and 10 total TDs, they made playing QB look so easy I almost think I could do it. Stats are nice but mean nothing without the rings to go with them, just ask Tony Choko.

man you are young.. so you're saying the only way you can be classified as good is if you win a superbowl? so I guess Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Jim Kelly, Fran Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, Boomer Esiason, Archie Manning, Steve McNair, Donovan McNabb, Drew Bledsoe, Ron Jaworski, Ken Anderson, Dave Krieg, Jim Everett, John Hadl all suck..

I am saying Matt Schaub is a tick below the likes of Romo and Ryan, so pretty good but not quite elite. I've never been impressed by him, he's had the luxury of one of the best WRs in the league and a strong running game for pretty much his entire career. I do think the Texans' fans who accosted him should be harshly dealt with. Moon, Kelly, Fouts, Esiason, I remember. Don't think I've heard of the other guys, they're probably from before I was born in 1980. I do have the harsh opinion that Marino is over-rated, the guy threw for how many yards and records and yet never collected a single ring?

if you were born in 1980 odds are you don't remember any of the guys I mentioned but McNair, McNabb, Bledsoe.. you're a football fan, do some research on the guys I named. Dilfer, Eli, Flacco, Hostetler, McMahon, B. Johnson, Rypien, weren't ever considered "elite" and they all won superbowls.. a ton of great QBs had elite WRs and never won

Tarkenton is the best QB the Vikings ever had, even over Moon and Favre, consider Favre the most over-rated QB of all-time. Flacco and Eli are both over-rated but did get it done in the post-season during their Super Bowl runs. LOL Brad Johnson...I felt bad for Trent Dilfer, I think that was the first time ever a QB got cut pretty much right after winning a Super Bowl. Jim Kelly was the Danny White of the 90s really except he went to 4 straight Super Bowls and got blown out every single time by the NFC East. Esiason was a great QB in his prime...remember feeling so bad for him when the health of his son? forced him into early retirement. Jaws is over-rated for sure...Bledsoe was a decent pocket passer with a big arm but my opinion of him is definitely tarnished by his seasons in Dallas.

Most of those guys had at least SOME playoff success, quite a few making Super Bowls.

you're killing me Darth.. Brett Favre is the best QB to ever play the game.. EVER, no discussion needs to be said about that.. this would be mine and I'm sure a lot of other people that know the games top 10 best QB list..

1. Brett Favre
2. Peyton Manning
3. Joe Montana
4. Johnny Unitas
5. Dan Marino
6. John Elway
7. Tom Brady
8. Steve Young
9. Terry Bradshaw
10. Fran Tarkenton

Favre would not make my top 5. Might not even make top 10. He was just a gunslinger.

damn and you were one of the few I actually thought knew what he was talking about with football.. Brett has every record in the book and won a Superbowl and tied for MVP of the game with Desmond Howard but he did lose another superbowl though.. gunslinger yes but he was the best at it and the best to play the game, just because the Falcons drafted him then f'd up by trading him shouldn't make you bitter

Let's be honest, QBs generally have to put up great numbers and win championships to be considered great, Moon and Marino are only two exceptions to that I can think of.
1. Roger Staubach
2. Joe Montana
3. Peyton Manning
4. Tom Brady
5. Fran Tarkenton
6. Steve Young
7. Drew Brees
8. Johnny Unitas
9. Aaron Rodgers
10. Warren Moon
The reason I don't like Favre that much is he simply threw too many picks, anyone who has the most INTs ever should not be in the greatest QB conversation. Also he was on how many great teams and he only got 1 ring? He had a very "Romo-like" tendency to choke in big games.

This topic is so subjective, but I love how you say that there is no discussion that Favre is the best. But in reality he made many mistakes in crucial parts of games that cost his team the W. I would take Montana, Elway who beat Favre in a Super Bowl, and as much as this really pains me to say Tom Brady over Favre.

every QB makes mistakes. they are human just like you and I.. Elway and Montana made mistakes as well.. How amazing was Montana without Jerry? not that amazing.. great of course but he wasn't putting up numbers like he was when Jerry was around.

I created a thread so we can discuss over there so we don't clutter this one up to much..

I'm native american and don't think it's offensive but......North America is pretty big and what might not offend me might offend another tribe as there are many.

yeah I'd support a name change if native americans wanted it

but deciding for others what is and isn't racist is white arrogance like glenn beck says
