Ex-NFL S Darren Sharper has been charged with drugging and raping two women in Los Angeles.
These are felony charges. Sharper, 38, is accused of raping two women whom he had invited back to his hotel room. He reportedly gave them liquid shots containing Ambien and morphine, causing them to pass out. One woman woke up while Sharper was assaulting her, while the other woke up naked hours later. It's been requested that bail be set at $10 million because Sharper is being investigated for rapes in L.A., New Orleans, Nevada and Arizona. Sharper is currently employed by NFL Network but was suspended without pay last month.

Martin can't handle a NFL locker room. Some of that stuff was normal ball busting that happens in every NFL locker room and he freaked out over it. How did he not think some of that would happen? Incognito was always a loudmouth clueless idiot that played dirty on the field.

I see why no one wants to work for the Dolphins...they are coming close to the Browns with being the most dysfunctional franchise in the NFL.

The one staff member who is culpable on some level was the position coach, and he isn't long for the job. I'm not saying they are currently the model organization, but much of the stuff is overblown.

They are culpable because it happened in their locker room. That is a lot of incidents to be woefully ignorant of. You guys make us look like a finely oiled machine.

They also stepped up and took responsibility and dealt with the situation when they became aware of it. Don't get me wrong, it was and is a problem and they are working towards improving the situation. The knee jerk reactions many have is laughable.

It was a perfect storm type of situation, two different personalities, one feeding off of the other. It was a shock to those in the locker room because they didn't know they depth of problems it was causing Martin, most did see it as harmless fun, which it obviously wasn't. I'd agree with you if Martin did something, anything, to let someone know what was going on. But he was incapable of doing so because of his emotional and psychological problems, problems he's had since her first started playing. I think if there were obvious signs that Philbin & management knew something was amiss I am sure it would have been in the report.

Why? Was Robert Kraft ignorant for signing a serial killer (Allegedly!) to a long term deal? Does the NFL network wish they never hired Sharper? Hindsight is 20/20, I'm sure other teams have similar issues that have flown under the radar. Does the Dolphins have internal issues that they have to address, and they are... It was the Dolphins that requested the NFL to step in and investigate. The report shows the Fins had a program in place, and that Philbin addressed the team several times and there were people in spport positions that could have helped Martin if he would have simply reached out.... but he couldn't, he wasn't strong enough, either mentally or emotionally, to do so. I know first hand about mental illness, and how easy it is to overlook until it isn't, so it's no surprise to me that no one knew the despair Martin was going through.

I wonder if any of the Dolphins 2013 opening day starters will be starting for the Dolphins on opening day 2014. Martin and Incognito obviously will be gone. Starting right tackle Tyson Clabo was terrible and benched during the season and won't be re-signed. That leaves John Jerry and Mike Pouncey, Incognito's 2 accomplices. I wouldn't be surprised if both get suspended by the league or the Dolphins, and Jerry is a free agent as we'll so the Dolphins might not want to bring him back. The Dolphins have over $30 million in salary cap space so I would expect them to make upgrading their line a priority and this is a deep draft for offensive tackles so they should be able to get a solid tackle with the 19th pick.

I don't know how the Dolphins don't make major changes with their coaching staff. This happened in their locker room under their watch. It's disgusting. Martin clearly isn't cut out for the NFL, but the things going on were dehumanizing.

This is a unique situation. Has there ever been a player kept out of the NFL HOF solely because of off the field legal issues? I'm fairly sure Sharper was considered a likely HOF'er until this. The guy was a 5x Pro Bowler, 6x All-Pro and made the 2000's NFL All-Decade Team. I don't see how he's elected now being a serial rapist. OJ is only in the Hall because his crimes happen post-election.

Well probably at least an accomplice. But the evidence was obviously shaky against Lewis, which is why he got off with a slap on the wrist. Sharper, barring a massive conspiracy against him, is a serial rapist.

He should be kept out, there's offenses too egregious and this is one of them

"Player A" from the Dolphns report is Andrew McDonald. And in typical "everybody is calling Martin a ***** and I'm not a *****", McDonald's agent released this statement:

"He's been a member of another organization since last season and is trying to focus on the future. When Ted Wells approached Andrew at the end of the investigation, Mr. Wells already had all the information contained in the report that he had gotten elsewhere. While Andrew can't speak for any other players involved in the report, he personally has no problem with the Miami Dolphins organization and has the highest opinion of (offensive line coach Jim) Turner both personally and professionally and feels terrible about the way their relationship has been portrayed in the report."

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute and arrested early Saturday morning at Revel, an entertainment resort in Atlantic City, N.J., in an incident that a tipster claims was more violent than his camp is letting on.

The Baltimore Sun broke the story that Rice had been arrested, charged, and released. His attorney, Andrew Alperstein, claimed that Rice's fiancée had also been arrested in connection with the incident, which he described as a "very minor physical altercation."

That may be so; Atlantic City police aren't returning calls on the matter right now and the casino declined to comment on the incident. According to our tipster, though, word at the Revel early Saturday morning was that a woman—presumably the fiancée—had spit on Rice and that in retaliation, he uppercut her, knocking her completely unconscious.
