I never wanted Manziel, even with our starting QB my age and having chronic back problems. He's a media magnet and we don't have the atmosphere in Dallas for him to flourish, he'll do worse in Cleveland than he would here of course. Josh Gordon is not enough for that kid to do well in a QB-killing town, especially in such a tough division with smash mouth defenses.
JL 8/22 -Vibe on this guy keeps getting worse. Support staff members are sick of him and ready for him to go. Described as a cocky, me-guy. Loves football, FBI is high as well. Everything has been pretty well-documented in online articles about the kid, but sources say he's a spoiled brat (grandfather gives him allowance, father bought him luxury car). They say he was getting on people's nerves during the '12 season, but it went to another level after the ALUN game. Seems to enjoy putting himself in situations where he knows attention will follow him (TXUN frat party during summer). CONCERNS: Off-field behavior, cockiness, maturity

lol thats taking the draft a tad too far... LOL if he tanks would they still feel the same way... I could see being bitter if he becomes a big star, but for the most part just hate your team and GM like I do in the past

I dunno, Tebow's game didn't translate well to the NFL but he was an amazing college QB. He also had height and a big arm, both of which Manziel seems to lack. A most telling sign of this particular draft pick would be Josh Gordon's reaction, since this move will have a huge impact on the kid's career.

Matt Leinart jr... He won't figure it out till after his chance has passed. Leinart had some flashes but with partying and not seeming to actually care he let his opportunity slip away. Hopefully Manziel won't do the same, but people need to remember guys like Leinart, Manziel if they fail and walk away with a few million they've already got good family situations to go back too, they won't end up in the ghetto because they spent all there money or didn't get a degree, so I could see them being as unenthused as a guy like Hayensworth who cashed in big and didn't need to produce.

Manziel's arm matches Tebow, and it's got a much faster release. Notice how nobody wanted to move Manziel or rework his throw, but that's what every analyst and team wanted to do with Tebow.

I also think Manziel will focus more in the NFL. In college, his goal was to get to the NFL, which required him to stand out above his peers on the field, and he has enough talent to do that in college. But in the pros, there is no next step other and you need more than talent. I hope he does well, especially since Filmnut needs something to cheer.
