Huh? Carrer Average 4.3yds. Also averaged 1000yds/season rush and 500yds rec during his 6 years.
Until this season he had only missed 3, or 4 games in his career. For that reason alone, I'm sure other teams would give him a shot had he not been suspended indefinitely.
So yeah 1000/500 RB's are definitely not a "dime a dozen".

Last season he had 660 yards and averaged 3.1 yards per carry. Teams don't care what his career numbers are, they'll look at what he did last season, and he was completely mediocre. If this had happened when he was 23 he probably would have played again but nobody is going to deal with the bad publicity that would come with signing Rice when he's well past his prime.

NFL GM's don't give a lick about career numbers. The only thing that matters is "what have you done for me lately." And lately Ray Rice has been a mediocre RB. Add his personal baggage to that and you get a guy no NFL team is going to want to toch with a 10 foot pole.

Only a paranoid nut could possibly look at that video and believe Ray Rice cold cocking his fiance was "self defense." Rice may have gotten off criminally but I'm content knowing he'll have trouble ever finding another NFL job again.
Just because someone is indicted doesn't mean they are guilty... You should know that especially since you live in FL with George Zimmerman and Casey Anthony both of which I said would be found not guilty and they were indeed found not guilty. You put your hands on someone you are assaulting them. Plain and simple.

Terrell Owens numbers were in decline his final year in Dallas, yet he got a job for both Buffalo and Cincinnati. That doesn't even take into account the fact that the guy is(was) a total cancer to any team for which he played.
Of course GM's look at career numbers. Career numbers get you in the door/in the conversation.
This doesn't even take into consideration the "system fit" angle. Look no further than Jerome Bettis. According to you guys, Pittsburgh should've avoided him like the plague after 3 years of declining numbers in LA/STL, that sure turned out pretty good for the Steelers(and Bettis).

I guarantee if Rice somehow were able to get his suspension removed either this year, or next, of course there will be a few teams bringing him in for a workout....because RB's, are not a dime/dozen which was my point.

RBs are a dime a dozen. That's why so many teams have switched to using 2 or 3 backs.

Game-changing WRs are not.

Well, no "game-changing" position player is a dime/dozen.
Neither T.O. nor Bettis were "game-changing" at the time of their relocation, again, which was my point.
I wouldn't even say serviceable RB's are a dime/dozen. The position is just brutal, with the shortest "prime earning" window of any position in football...heck probably all of sports.

Tough on crime, but does nothing about this.
Lies on national television about league seeing video.
Rice describes events exactly as they happen and gets a 2-game suspension "because those are the rules we have"
Video comes out, and suddenly the rules are different.
Suspends Saints owner because of "cover up", yet he's now part of a similar (if not bigger) cover up.

His #1 job is "to protect the shield". All he's done over the last month is make it look poorly run.

Did I miss something? Is there some sort of proof that he saw the video? Why would they request the video and then not watch it if it was given to them? Why would they only give Rice two games if they saw the video?

The AP has a police source saying the video was sent in April and has a voicemail from the league office confirming receiving the video and the lady speaking indicates it has been viewed and is bad. I'm assuming that secretary didn't watch it and then not give it to the higher ups. And like you said, if they had it, they'd watch it.

A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancee to an NFL executive three months ago, while league officers have insisted they didn't see the violent images until this week.

The person played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."

Wow, you are taking an anonymous report as fact? How do oyu know they weren't talking about the video from outside the elevator?

Explain to me why they would:

1) Request the video
2) Receive & watch the video
3) Only suspend Rice two games, knowing the public reaction if it was ever made public
4) Admit mistake, create a new mandate surrounding Domestic Abuse
5) Video is leaked, lie about it

None of that makes sense to me.

So he was spitting on her. Thats why she slapped at him before they entered the elevator. He needs to be made an example of and remain suspended indefinitely.
I think Goodell is done. It doesn't take an expert to see that he was lying during the interview last night.
His days are numbered with the new evidence they've found. I'll give him a week, tops.

If everything you said is true then yes he should step down, but I'm not sure if it is.

I believe the anonymous report a lot more than the NFL couldn't get its hands on the video. It either didn't try or it got it; either way, Goodell should be gone. Not to mention Ray Rice reportedly described the video accurately to them and only got 2 games.
