I hope we just roll with Mettenberger the rest of the way. Might as well see what he's got. And that's nothing against Whitehurst. I know people probably assume he's the reason we lost. I'm not sure if it's still the consensus but whenever I watch Oregon the Mariota kid jams. I've been watching him for a couple years..he's really smart off the field as well. Reminds me of Russel. (personality not playing style)

Anyone else feel like the Devon Still thing is being overplayed and he's getting way more support than he would've had all that bad publicity about domestic violence/abuse hadn't been sooooo in the forefront?

Definitely not overplayed. Some of us like a little good news now and then. I wish more good guys with good stories were highlighted, but I'll take what I can get.

No I mean I definitely agree, but the NFL having Marvin Lewis do a press conference on him being retained on the practice squad, and today show, and all that. I just feel like the NFL feels like this is a good way to get their news away from all the negative. And had it been a year or two ago. We'd have probably seen some nice charities maybe a couple spots on the news, but it just seems like they're pushing the story a lot more than usual.

Um no lol Orton was horrible the only reason you guys wont is cause the Lions cant kick a damn Field Goal.

To the surprise of absolutely no one the Lions have cut kicker Alex Henery. No replacement yet, but whoever gets the job can't be worse than the kickers the Lions have used so far this season.

The score was closer than the game was. We soundly outplayed you boys yesterday. Once Orton shook off the rust, he was amazing. He plays like that from here on out, we are going to win a lot of football games. Our defense is NASTY.

Nah man it really wasn't a good offensive showing from either side, both defenses were good, it really came down to Henry not knowing how to kick a football

The only way I can see someone other than Prater getting the job is if he wants more money than the Lions can afford. If overthecap.com is right the Lions only have $2.2 million in cap space, but if Prater wants to play this year he can't really afford to pass on jobs since there really aren't any other teams in the market for a kicker.

Orton is the guy who started a team off 6-0 where they finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

He's also the guy who got booted from Denver by Tebow.

He has moments of greatness but he'll let you down eventually.

No idea, I was at work most of the game was not aware there was a idiot in the stands doing that crap. I really hope they fine and ban his ass if someone did have that, no room in the crowd for that shit.

If you look at the stat sheet, it is certainly in our favor. A shame about Megatron for sure. I don't like to see anyone get injured, especially a player of his caliber. Both defenses are pretty strong, Bush and Spiller were total nonfactors. The difference in the game was Orton. He made big throws down the stretch. I can't wait to see him in a few weeks when he has a little more familiarity with our receivers. I'm still so fired up!
