It's odd that the Carson Palmer ad lists him as an All-Pro quarterback because he's never been an All-Pro quarterback. He's made the Pro Bowl twice but All-Pro goes to the best player at each position regardless of conference and Palmer has never even made the second team of either the Associated Press or Sporting News All-Pro team.

Yeah, a lot of people think being named to the Pro Bowl makes a player an All-Pro but they are completely different things. All-Pro is a team named by a group. The most famous All-Pro list is put out by the Associated Press, but Sporting News and the Pro Football Writers Association puts out lists as well. As best I can tell Palmer has never been named an All-Pro by any organization.

Lions running back Mikel Leshoure, who was picked in the second round, got hurt this morning at practice. Per the link:

“Left leg injury for Mikel Leshoure. Being carted off the field. Looks bad,” Tim Twentyman of the Detroit News wrote. ”They were working around the ankle and Achilles area.”

Leshoure was drafted to help take some pressure off of Jahvid Best, who few believe can handle a full-time role due to his smaller size. Hopefully the injury doesn't turn out to be too serious.

Because, among other things: my parents grew up Lions fans in MI, and they were the worst team in football for years. I'm a sucker for underdog stories. I would actually be ok with them beating the Packers twice if it meant they could go to the playoffs.

Garrard (back) noted he is "feeling pretty good right now," but acknowledged a lack of preventative treatment in the offseason has made his chronic back tightness more of an issue, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Recommendation:
There are a few red flags here for those considering drafting Garrard in the late rounds. Garrard's back problem was enough to take him off the field in a cart Tuesday, and it seems to be a regular issue. Also, it's clear the lockout took its toll on Garrard, and lack of access to the team's training staff all summer has put Garrard in worse shape than he should be. These things, combined with the relatively promising play of rookie Blaine Gabbert should keep potential fantasy owners at bay. Garrard will almost certainly begin the season as the Jags' QB1, but we wouldn't guarantee he stays in that spot all year.

He's going into his 10th year as well so that plays a factor despite the limited team workouts during the off-season. I'm still pulling for him to make our team win the Division, but then as soon as he struggles. I can't wait to start a new era with Blaine.

Give it 1 or 2 years. They will go over .500 as long as Stafford remains healthy. They were competitive most of last year especially during November as they lost a few close games.
