The defender leading with their head into the offense is also instinctive behavior they do without realizing it.

For some reason the NFL has decided that it's not ok. Instinctual or not clearly has no bearing on the rules nor the penalties.

I don't disagree at all. Football is a rough sport, the malicious hits should without question be punished severely. But there are going to be inadvertent headshots, it's going to happen. And they should not be fined/suspended for that. The NFL is trying to do the right thing, and I applaud them for that, but they are starting to go too far. I hope Reed's suspension reversal is a sign that they realize this.

I disagree with that alot of guy are taught to lead that way due to the way the helmets are manufactured now. The equipment is essentially being used as a weapon.

They do teach it. That doesn't mean it's not instinctually natural. Little kids will lead with their head frequently when playing/rough-housing.

When guys throw for some 50 plus times, they usually don't complete that many passes. Schaub went 43 for 55 lol, 78%

Jaguars placed Blaine Gabbert (forearm, shoulder) and Laurent Robinson (concussion) on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
Gabbert sustained a right forearm injury last week and will eventually need surgery on his left shoulder. Backup Chad Henne has also exposed just how bad Gabbert has been by sparking a previous dormant offense against the Texans last week, throwing for 354 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Henne was likely to stick as the Jags' starter the rest of the way even if Gabbert got healthy. At this point, the 2011 No. 10 overall pick can no longer be considered a franchise quarterback. He went 1-9 as a sophomore, completing just 58.3 percent of his passes while throwing nine touchdowns against six interceptions. The Jags would be wise to show interest in West Virginia's Geno Smith or USC's Matt Barkley come April's draft.

After ESPN half-heartedly disputed his report, SI's Jim Trotter reiterated late Wednesday that Alex Smith has been informed by 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh of his demotion in favor of Colin Kaepernick.
Smith apparently told ESPN's Trent Dilfer that Kaepernick would get first-team practice reps, but the job was still open to an in-practice competition. Not the case. "I ... stand behind my report," said Trotter, who's as reliable as they come. "Harbaugh to Alex: 'I'm going with Kaepernick. Alex, I'm sorry.'" Kaepernick should be viewed by fantasy owners as a high-upside Week 12 start against the Saints. Smith can be dropped in fantasy leagues.

The main reason why the Cowboys lost the game on 11-25-1993 was because they did not play good enough to win the game. It was not because of the snow or Leon Lett. They lost as a team. Yes Leon Lett did make a mistake at the end of the game, but that was not the only mistake that the Cowboys made. If the Cowboys could have played better that day it might not would have come down to that play at the end of the game. The Cowboys did win the Super Bowl that year and they were the best team that year. But even the best team can have a bad game and that is what happend on that day.
