On the positive side with the new Rookie Wage scale you can look forward to a decent pick at a cheap salary after this year.

Jacoby Ford and Darrius Heyward-Bey are listed as the starting receivers on the Raiders' first depth chart of training camp.
Coach Hue Jackson talked up Ford all offseason, and he's backed it up by placing the explosive second-year breakout candidate atop the depth chart. As soon as Ford recovers from a broken hand, he will start outside and likely move to the slot in three-wide sets. There's major potential here in return-yardage leagues. Louis Murphy and Chaz Schilens are backing up DHB and Ford respectively. Training camp sensation Denarius Moore could move quickly behind Heyward-Bey and Murphy.

The Raiders unfortunately are going to be like the Chicago blackhawks, crap until the owner dies. sucks to say but it is the truth, Al Davis is probably the most block headed owner in the league.

I wouldn't . Austin maxed out awhile ago and only plays well against bad teams, Dez is a toss up and will either improve or fizzel, at least with Ford and DHB you have a shot at real growth.

Is that statement a homer statement or just one with a lack of sports knowledge? If you polled a 1000 smart nfl personel and players 999 of them would easily pick austin and bryant. The only one that wouldn't would be a blood relative of al davis.

I would gladly take Austin and Bryant as backups to Calvin anyday MY GOD that corp would be tits! Then again when Hayward Bay learns to catch and dont drop every pass headed his way maybe hell be a good WR. FOrd is awesome nice return threat and was doing good the last 5 games of the season.

Upside? Miles austin has proven the last two years he is capable of putting up better numbers then ford and dhb combined. Dez (despite being an idiot) is clearly the most talented of all 4 of them and has shown more promise. Im not a cowboys fan but it is painfully obvious how much more upside they have then ford and bey.

lol guess you don't watch much college football, if you never watched Ford or DHB. Austin has proven himself.... If you only had a schedule with the 2009 K.C. Chiefs on it. As for Dez and I'll reiterate again, can still go either way. And just like Randy Moss when he was with the Raiders when you're at WR you're only as good as the talent around you. Oh and every chance in the big games Austin got he blew or vanished... Anyway

Coach Mike Shanahan admitted Wednesday that Chris Cooley's sore left knee is a concern.
Cooley returned to practice Monday, but was held out again on Wednesday. He won't play in Friday's preseason opener either. After January knee surgery, it's clear Cooley is struggling to regain full health. With a miserable quarterback situation and an offensive line that needs help, Cooley has a bold down arrow next to his name now. Fred Davis is drawing plenty of first-team reps and the 'Skins signed Derek Schouman as insurance.

We kinda need them, I like Stephen McGee and our other young receivers but I'd rather see what Romo can do in what is probably his truest make or break season to date.

Miles Austin had 1000 receiving yard seasons in 2009, and 2010. Had Romo not been hurt last season, he more than likely would have had better numbers than what he put up. What criteria do you require of a player to be considered proven? I look at Austin's game vs the Chiefs in 09 as more of a coming out party. He showed that he's a threat and defenses need to know where he is on the field at all times, and 1 defender often won't be enough. DHB and Ford aren't there yet. Dez Bryant showed flashes of being that type of player last season.
