All 3 of your QB in pre season game 1 did not even have above a 52% completion rating. Minny CB situation is bad and the D line is aging, they lost Rice to Seattle and made no real effort to go after the best free agent WR they could. Right now if I was Minny id be on the phone checking out TO as some form of a good deep threat provided his knee has healed.

I do not think Frazier want to go near a headcase like Terrell but I heard rumors the Vikings are offering TJ Houshmandzadeh a contract, ugh, no thanks! He is currently deciding between the Colts and Vikings, the Vikings offered more $$ than the Colts...

Not sure if this has been mentioned but Friday night the Raiders kicked off to start both the first and second half. The explanation from Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback:

Quote:
I think the Raiders might want to practice their coin-toss procedure. Did you hear what happened in their opener against Arizona Thursday night? Raiders won the toss. One captain told the ref after the coin toss he wanted to defer. Another captain said he wanted to kick off. The ref heard the "we want to kick off'' more prominently, and so he said the Raiders have chosen to kick off. That meant at the start of the second half, Arizona would get the choice.

Of course, Arizona chose to receive to start the second half. That meant Oakland kicked off to start the first half and the second half in Game 1 of the Hue Jackson era. Of all the things Jackson figured could go wrong in his first game as an NFL coach, I bet his players botching the coin toss would be pretty much near the bottom.

The Bills have waived Aaron Maybin, the #11 pick in the 2009 draft. Maybin missed most of his rookie training camp in a contract holdout. In Maybin's 2 seasons he had 24 total tackles and 0 sacks.

Good riddance. What a huge bust and a waste of a draft pick.

The Tennessee Titans' contract stalemate with holdout running back Chris Johnson shows no signs of ending anytime soon.

While the Titans publicly stated they are willing to make Johnson the highest-paid running back in the NFL, those close to Johnson believe he should be paid as one of the top playmakers in the league -- not just for running backs, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

To date, the Titans have not made any offers to Johnson. Until the Titans can find a way to appease Johnson, the Pro Bowl running back is not expected to report back to the team, which sets up the possibility for a prolonged holdout.

General manager Mike Reinfeldt told The Associated Press last week that Johnson's agent was the first person the team called once the NFL's lockout was lifted. The Titans had reworked Johnson's contract a year ago to give him more money in 2010 and promised to talk to him again a year later.

But Johnson told The Tennessean he was surprised to hear that Reinfeldt said that he would make him the highest-paid running back ever. Johnson said neither he nor his agent has received any offer from the Titans.

"Maybe they talked, but I guarantee we never received any offer," Johnson told The Tennessean.

Johnson said last year that he wanted a new deal with $30 million in guaranteed money. The Titans revised his contract by boosting his 2010 salary by $1.5 million to $2.05 million to convince the running back to report.

Johnson is heading into his fourth season and due to make $800,000 in base salary. The final two years of his deal can max out at roughly $2.7 million.

Part of the problem is that running backs typically are not paid as well as some of the league's other top players. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is the league's highest-paid running back at $10.7 million. DeAngelo Williams received $21 million guaranteed from the Carolina Panthers to re-sign this offseason.

Johnson has rushed for 4,598 yards and 34 touchdowns during his three seasons. He also has caught 137 passes for 1,008 more yards and four more touchdowns.

His numbers have made him one of the most dangerous players in the game -- and Johnson wants to be paid like it.

Fat Al Haynesworthless is a lost cause, even to a coach like Belicheat, since he only practices/plays when he wants to. I'd be surprised if they let Ocho Cinco go though, since they have no depth at receiver. Would be funny if they sign TJ and those two are their starting receivers this season.

There's no chance they are cutting Ocho, they have already paid him a $4.75 signing bonus. I can't see them cutting Haynesworth either unless he is injured or too out of shape to play. The Patriots players and coaches have been raving about his ability. I don't know if this story was leaked by Belichick to try to motivate Ocho and Haynesworth or to show the team that everyone is expandable but neither of them will be cut.

I wouldn't say no depth,

Deon Branch
Wes Welker
Julian Edelman
Taylor Price

Not to mention two stud tight ends who do well in the passing game. I'm confused at why TJ was brought in today as i'm thinking Price is ready to shine, and would hate to see his growth stunted by acquiring TJ. Though injuries can turn depth around quite quickly, but to say they have none is not true at all imo when you pan around the rest of the league. If anyone they are hinting at which i hope is not true is Welker because of his cap figures.

I'm not worried on Al, he is clearly out of game shape at this time and would only most likely hurt himself trying to go all out. If this lingers into the season then i will start to get concerned, still the draft pick was worth the shot imo.

Theres no way TJ would start over Wes Welker.

I hope Hue does flame out in Oakland. It's so much fun seeing Al Davis's press conferences when he fires a coach. Lane Kiffin and Tom Cable's firings were both epic. Maybe Al will break out the 1980'ish overhead slide projector again when he fires Hue.
