List of NFL ties due to Miami... Also list benefits they got
Wow Suddenly that hit Suh delivered dont look so bad thats a big list... Shocked to see some of those names on that list Andre, Gore, Mcgahee. Nothing will ever come of this on the pro level but if this is true University of Miami is about to get tanked BIG TIME

Honestly the NCAA should pay these players for the amount of money they make off of them. Just disqualify the ones who make $$$ from the Heisman voting and all Bowl games or something. Or the NFL should step in and deal with these agents who pay under the table during college or something.

Probably would have been worse had he been doing it prior when Reed, Portis, Dorsey, Shockey exc. were all there. (Portis is in some of the pictures and he was with Denver at the time lol)

And I agree about giving them some money... Let them have a little self-respect (pre-loaded debit card or something that the NCAA reviews, just like at a job with an expense report) when out with friends/ family and could at least buy a meal at McDonalds.

Even Jim Kelly said "I may not have taken like 20-60 in my day, but if someone was offering me $1000 I probably would have taken it... Where I grew up I'd never seen a $100 bill."

I know from my friends on D1 teams they get some nice gear, but they don't get food on a regular basis or anything outside of when they are around the program... Which is a real problem at a college.

Possibly idk, but in the past 3-4 years theres been a record amount of scandals in the NCAA

Reggie Bush thing
USC Crap
OSU Crap
Now Miami Crap

NCAA needs to do something fast before this spins out of control.

lol and thats just crap we know about I mean look how open the Miami stuff was and they're just now finding out about it. Think about programs that really have control over their activities.

I'm not making fun of anyone. How you choose to interpret sarcasm and joking is entirely up to you though.

I dont know about that yet, Vick is good but hes not god. He had a hellva season last year but he has yet to prove he can do it with any consistancy. When he proves that, and constantly takes his team to playoffs/SB apperances then talk about how Vick is the golden Boy that can do no wrong.

Romo is proven, Just hasent done anything in playoffs

Stafford is as Injury Prone as Vick once was, that 2 year prison stint and 1 year off NFL probably extended Vicks career a few years otherwise with his current playing style.

Vick isn't god. I never said he was. I don't think he is in the top tier but he has proven more then romo in the regular season and post season. Freeman hasn't taken his team to the playoffs once and matthew stafford has missed more games in two years to injury then vick has in his whole career. I don't know why people think I love vick. I just think he has proven more then 2/3 if the nfl qbs at this point. That doesn't make him god and doesn't mean they wont end up better then him at some point. The worst part about this whole discussion is it was started by someone who didn't think vick, brees, roethlisberger or eli manning were in the top 10 of qbs in league. Im just arguing common sense at this point but it keeps getting pulled off in other directions.

See Romo still has had better seasons then Vick (minus the running part), but again if Vick continues down the path of working hard, and first in, last out. His ceiling is unmatched, but as of today he's no different then any other comeback player whose had a great year and we'll see if he can continue that pace.

Terrelle Pryor has been declared eligible for the NFL supplemental draft but must sit the first 5 games of the season and cannot practice during that time. The supplemental draft will occur on Monday, August 22.

Per the link:
Quote:
"... Pryor made decisions that undermine the integrity of the eligibility rules for the NFL Draft. Those actions included failing to cooperate with the NCAA and hiring an agent in violation of NCAA rules, which resulted in Ohio State declaring him ineligible to continue playing college football.

"Pryor then applied to enter the NFL after the regular draft. Pryor had accepted at the end of the 2010 college football season a suspension for the first five games of the 2011 season for violating NCAA rules. Pryor will be ineligible to practice prior to or play in the first five games of the NFL regular season after he signs."
I honestly can't see Pryor being picked in the supplemental draft with that suspension. Pryor was already going to struggle to make a team so late in the preseason and now he will be even further behind without practicing during the season.

I like that the NFL would sort of "carry over" the collegiate suspension to the NFL.

Perhaps they'll have some teeth in the whole "improper benefits" thing, too.

All that said, I think it's shitty that the NFL delayed the the draft just so it could deal with Pryor. The guy does not deserve the special treatment he got from OSU and the NCAA (see 2010 bowl game).

Pryor's suspension getting carried over from NCAA to the NFL is unprecedented. I dont think there is any way the NFL will be able to do anything like this to the current NFL players that were in violation in Miami. Only reason I say this is because Pryor is not part of the players association yet. If the NFL tries this on any of the current players then the PA will be all over Goodell's ass for it. If the rule is not already in place then I dont see any punishment being carried out. The NFL pretty much had Pryor by the balls during this whole situation. They simply couldve chosen not to declare him eligible for the supplemental draft. The NFL has never caved to players who were trying to enter simply because they werent going to be able to play college football anymore.

I doubt it most of the guys are so far removed it wouldn't matter (not to mention a majority are heavy hitters and people you pay to go see).

I should've clarified -- I don't mean the NFL could (or should) do anything to punish current NFL players who went to Miami. But it certainly can (and should) do it for current Miami players who wish to come to the NFL.

I still think someone will draft Pryor. Maybe the Lions as insurance for when Ole Glass Cannon gets hurt. Or the Cowboys to set a fire under Romo to win playoff games.

I'd love to see the Ravens draft him. Only for the sole fact that he could probably scare Flacco into trying harder.

Pro Football Talk says the NFL had approval from the NFLPA to suspend Pryor for the first 5 games, so if Pryor tries to appeal he likely won't have the NFLPA on his side.

Freeman is only entering his third year and second as the starter he already has 7 come from behind wins and they should have made the playoff last year. So to say he hasn't taken his team to the playoffs isn't a fair assessment of him as a QB.

Lions wont touch him they went out of there way this offseason to resign stanton. Not to mention Hill is a very viable backup QB

I love Stafford and think that -- if he can be healthy -- he can easily be a top 7 QB in the league despite being drafted by literally the worst team of all time. But if he is too fragile and/or fails, they need an actual QB - not a backup.

Which they have in there backup of Shawn Hill, he had a good season last year toss him behind a good line and hes servicable until it can be addressed without breaking the bank. Thats the biggest thing for me I want good players determined to win with the right mindset and not breaking the bank!
