The NCAA has had the rule for years and Im happy to see it in the NFL because of the possibility of this

Quote:
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Assistant head coach Jimmy Robinson had a message for Dez Bryant when the Cowboys wide receiver came back to the sideline after a third-down drop forced a punt on the opening series.

“Hey, that’s your one drop for the year,” Bryant said Robinson told him.

Bryant had what would have been a first down, but he turned too quickly and the ball fell to the ground.

“I took my eye off the ball and I shouldn’t have,” Bryant said. “That’s a little mind mistake. That can be fixed. That’s not me. I’m glad it’s preseason. I’m glad it doesn’t really count. My standards are very high about catching the football. One drop is too many.”

Bryant finished with two catches for 13 yards. On both receptions, he attempted to break several tackles and took a couple of big hits.

“Coach hasn’t said anything to me,” Bryant said. “I’m pretty sure he wants me to fall down when I can’t get anymore. I just look to score every time I touch the ball. I think that’s the way you’re supposed to play football … If you play offense you should feel like no guy can bring you down. I don’t care if it’s 100 guys, you’ve got to keep your legs moving.”

I stayed up to watch the Cowboys lose. I can't get enough of watching them lose but I'll admit it's less interesting in the pre-season.

I shouldn't enjoy watching them lose so much. I got hooked on it last year and they served up the losses practically every week. I can't wait for the Jets vs Cowboy game because I hate both teams and I'm sure one of them will lose.

Ha ha ha.....

You are right, they are better off staying at home for the safety of themselves

Bills player got lit up... Good for his teammates at least appearing to stick up for him.

Do you all think the Colts will get a better backup QB for P. Manning? Jim Irsay is having fun on twitter about signing Farve.

Favre won’t go anywhere where he knows he’d be the backup.

hopefully gonna go check out packers practice this coming sunday!!

then a tour of lambeau and the packer hall of fame...and pix of our 4th super bowl trophy!!

practice is @ 11:30 so we're hoping to get there about 9 and being able to get seats in the bleachers to watch the offense this year.

I think Favre would be a great backup for Manning, but it's never going to happen. First off Favre would want too much money, and he wouldn't want a role where he'd likely start for a couple weeks (at best) and then get benched. This is just Irsay goofing around like he often does. Regardless, the Colts should have done a better job preparing for the possibility of Manning missing games. They knew long before camp started that Manning could miss time but rather than go after an experienced veteran like Vince Young, Marc Bulger, or Kerry Collins they went with journeyman Dan Orlovsky, who is best known for running out of the back of the end zone for a safety, and Curtis Painter, who has never shown he could start. The Colts have a rough schedule to start the season and if Manning misses time they could be out of the playoff race quickly.
