Marino: Henne has talent to be a good NFL QB

Way to get us excited Dan!

Quote:
As far back as January, team owner Stephen Ross made it clear that the offense the Dolphins put on the field in 2010 wouldn't fly in 2011.

"I've told Tony that to me, I want an aggressive, creative [offense] not playing just to keep it close, where people really are a little more unpredictable," Ross said at the time.

Sparano got the message. Earlier this week, he admitted to Yahoo.com's Jason Cole that conservative play-calling is a thing of the past.
I wouldn't mind more exciting Football by the Dolphins.

The Dolphins are still in the NFL?

I thought they switched to the Lingirie League.

A team made up of 2 wife beaters, has beens, not yets, and a bum for a coach.

What a joke!

ARLINGTON - The Cowboys have had discussions with Jay Ratliff's agent, Mark Slough, about a contract extension for the Pro Bowl nose tackle, according to a source.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn't do himself any favors Wednesday in regard to leverage in the negotiating talks by mentioning Ratliff's salary during the team's annual kickoff luncheon at Cowboys Stadium.

Jones was discussing the fairness of the NFL's new collective bargaining agreement when he made an off-the-cuff joke.

"We have assured that we will have 10 years of where we don't have any issues with anything regarding clubs, players or those types of salaries. Now, I will make an exception," Jones said. "Jay Ratliff will tell you, 'You've got a big issue, Jerry, with my salary. I need a little more money.'"

Ratliff has been a bargain for the Cowboys since he signed a five-year, $20.5 million contract extension in mid-December 2007. Since then, he's made three consecutive Pro Bowls.

The 2007 season was Ratliff's first year to start. He was a seventh-round pick in the 2005 NFL draft out of Auburn. Last season, Ratliff had 34 tackles, 3½ sacks and 10 quarterback pressures.

Ratliff, who turned 30 on Monday, would become an unrestricted free agent after the 2012 season under his current contract. Ratliff's base salary this season is $3.75 million and it's $4.875 million in 2012.

Just last week, the Cowboys agreed to a five-year, $26 million contract extension with cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who was in the final year of a rookie contract that paid him a base salary of $550,000.

They did win the division just a couple years ago and were competetive last year. They aren't winning a superbowl but aren't at the bottom of the league either.

I've got to wonder if the MRI Arian Foster put on Twitter isn't really an MRI of his hamstring but rather an MRI of someone else's hamstring. I just can't understand how a player could be that stupid to put something on Twitter that proves he's got a real injury and could miss the start of the season. It seams to me like it'd be a smart trick to put a fake MRI up so opponents assume he is more injured than he really is.

Fred Taylor is going to sign a one-day contract with the Jaguars and retire tomorrow. Taylor played for the Jaguars for 11 years before joining the Patriots for 2 seasons and is 15th on the NFL's all-time rushing list.

It's stupid no matter what, which is surprising because he's apparently a very very smart guy.

Titans agreed to terms with Chris Johnson on a four-year, $53.5 million contract.
Johnson will get at least eight days of practice in before Week 1, giving him plenty of time to prepare to play against against the Jaguars. Owners drafting this weekend can safely select CJ2K No. 1 overall in most formats. Even if he is eased in slowly at first, Johnson will resume every-down status rapidly. His deal includes a whopping $30 million in guarantees and a $13.3 million annual salary. If those numbers hold up upon further examination, CJ2K will have gotten exactly what he wanted -- elite player, not just elite running back money.

Yes, it's an extension to his current deal, so he's now signed for 6 years and about $56.5 million. The Vikings might regret not signing Adrian Peterson to an extension earlier this offseason because he's going to be looking for a deal that surpasses this when he becomes a free agent after the season.

Chris Johnson's four-year, $53.5 million extension is tacked on to two years he had remaining. Johnson now under contract through 2016.

What I'm saying is they could have probably locked Peterson up for an extension at $11 million per year and $28 million guaranteed, but now that Johnson got an extension Peterson may want more than Johnson's $13 million per year and $30 million guaranteed.
