That's just stupid, maybe the Cowboys' old drunk owner can help keep this from happening since he is one of the most influential owners in the NFL, even now that he's demented and senile.

Except for those 6 games he's lost. 8-6 record as a starter. 9-7 if you include playoffs.

That's a major if though. If Tebow would be willing to switch positions, you'd see several teams interested. He would be a very effective hybrid TE/H Back.
I go to UT and I know a lot about Da'Rick. He's seriously not a first round prospect. I promise you that. I'm not taking his character into question. I'm talking about his ability as a football player only. I would say he was worth a 2nd round pick without the troubles. I considered him a 4th-5th round prospect with the character concerns.

I like him a lot. Certainly a steal to get him as a UDFA. But not a first round prospect! I promise.

So basically they signed him with little investment and zero hits to wasting a pick and you said he's a second round talent sounds like a win to me

Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf and many others had their shots. Someone should give him one.
As bad as these names you list are, I'd _still_ take all of them over Tebow.

Tebow was 8-6 in the regular season. Kyle Orton's first 14 games for the Broncos? Also 8-6. Oh, but Kyle Orton isn't viewed as a "super nice guy" who "just deserves a shot" and "all he does is win".

One fluke playoff win, against a Steelers team who couldn't play many of its best defensive players, doesn't change anything.

Orton got his shot 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010... Tebow still won games not alone, but maybe he can spark better play around him, he wouldn't be the first. Maybe he grows in week 15 and goes on a run the next season . Plenty of implausible things have happened in the NFL so to say a guy who has a winning record doesn't deserve a chance is still somewhat baffling.

Wins and Losses are NOT, and never have been, a Quarterback stat. They just aren't. And if you go beyond W/L, Tebow has no other redeeming stat.

I so wish there would be people working on "advanced QB stats", because there is no such thing as a current QB stat that is solely QB-related. How much talent does Stafford actually have when he's throwing at Johnson all day? But Wins and Losses are so far removed from being a direct QB stat that it's absurd people try to use them at all.

lol I don't feel like it but go grab eli manning and a few other major starters beginning game stats. They had near equally crappy numbers as Tebow. I doubt he'd make the leaps they did quickly after, but it goes to show you without a bigger body of work you have no idea what would happen otherwise I'd implore you to go play the lotto and not be here talking to us
