Yea, you just cut your losses with an idiot like that. Most 7th round picks don't stick around too long anyways.

It's being rumored that Carrie Underwood will be singing the Sunday Night Football theme song this year, replacing Faith Hill. NBC Sports will be holding a conference call today, and yesterday Underwood tweeted:

Quote:
Just to let you know, we have some great news that we'll be sharing tomorrow! I'm really excited about it! Stay tuned...
So far it's just media speculation, but Underwood makes a lot of sense. NBC and the NFL would want the person singing the theme song to have a very wholesome and uncontroversial image and Underwood certainly fits the bill.

The Bills will be decent if... they have great QB play this season. I just don't see that happening.

You obviously know more about your team than I would, as I do with the Titans, but I get the feeling that the Bills o-line is in need of some help. I'd also say the secondary is really bad LB corps is weak. DL is probably the biggest strength.

I don't think the Bills did enough in the offseason and draft to believe that they're getting any better.

Out of curiosity, what kind of record are you expecting the Bills to have this season?
I'm not convinced EJ would have been there at pick #41, we did the right thing taking him at #16. He's the quarterback we wanted, and we had to be sure to get him. I'd rather we have traded back again in the first to pick up another pick. As long as the injury bug stays away from us, I'm hopeful that we can contend for a wild card. I love the hire of Marrone. He's a really good X's and O's coach that is very enthusiastic about being in Buffalo, I thought it was a terrific hire. Most of our secondary is in good shape with the exception of our second CB. Gilmore is going to be a great corner in the NFL, but we don't have anyone reliable to start opposite him. McKelvin is better suited as a nickel corner, but he and Ron Brooks will be battling it out for the other starting corner spot. I give the edge to Brooks unless McKelvin can lose his bad habit of peeking into the backfield and getting beat deep. We addressed our LB's via trade, free agency, and the draft so we really improved our team there. My second concern other than CB is our LG, losing Levitre really hurt. He's a hell of a football player, you'll love him with the Titans. We do have a couple young guards on our roster, so hopefully a blue chipper will step forward and fill that hole.

I agree. I'm sure the Bills would have liked to have taken EJ somewhere in the 20's but they probably couldn't find a suitor. There is certainly no guarantee that he would have been available with their second pick. If he turns out to be a bust then it wouldn't be their first. I like the fact that they went after their guy. Hopefully that gives him more of an edge and it shows on Sunday's

What an idiot. Titus Young was arrested on suspicion of DUI after making an illegal turn right in front of a cop. His car was impounded. Later that day, he was arrested for breaking into the tow yard to try and steal back his car.

If it's been towed, it's legally not your stuff until you pay.

Levitre was #1 on my FA wants for the Titans. Delanie Walker was #2. When we signed them both within the first hour of FA, I creamed my pants.

Our OL better be amazing. I swear Bruce Matthews, although one of the best o-linemen of all time, is a horrible OL coach. If our line isn't top 5, he's doing something wrong.

Schwenke in the 4th was a steal for us too. Better than that rapist beard center the Cowboys reached for in the 1st.

Jeans maker Levi Strauss has purchased the naming rights to the 49ers new Santa Clara stadium, which will be known as Levi's Stadium. The 49ers will make an official announcement at an 11:00 (Pacific time) press conference.

Edit: The deal is for 20 years and $220 million.

Quote:
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has done a good job of subduing his off-field offseason activities ever since the Pats (reportedly) asked him to take it down a notch. But his lack of shenanigans hasn't helped his health much, and now Gronk might be facing an additional surgery on his forearm.

Gronkowski underwent a third surgery on his broken arm in late February and now, according to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, he needs a fourth surgery on the arm to "change the plate that's securing the broken bone in the forearm."

We heard earlier this week that the Pats and Gronk were in "wait and see" mode when it came to his arm and that he was facing a two-week stretch where the team and the tight end tried to determine what was going on.

This news is significantly worse, though not necessarily unexpected. Apparently the biggest issue is whether the infection remains in the tissue surrounding the plate and the arm.

Per Guregian, the docs are going to do a fourth surgery regardless. But the ideal situation involves cutting open his arm, finding no infection, sewing it up and moving along.

The nightmare situation is if the infection remains in the arm. If, upon cutting Gronk open for the fourth time this offseason, doctors find an infection, the timetable for the tight end's recovery is extended out much further and the possibility of a fifth surgery suddenly looms.

That, Guregian writes, could mean Gronk's "participation for the start of the season and perhaps beyond would be in jeopardy."

It's a terrifying notion for Patriots fans given the change on offense they've seen. Wes Welker is out and Danny Amendola is in. The second wide receiver position is wide open with Michael Jenkins, rookie Aaron Dobson and Donald Jones fighting it out. Aaron Hernandez is obviously a capable starting tight end, but he wasn't exactly healthy in 2012 either.

Tom Brady will make things work and the Pats will likely win the AFC East regardless of who -- Brady aside -- is and who is not healthy on the offensive end of things. But Gronk's inability to get healthy isn't exactly a good harbinger for 2013 success.

At least Gronk is smart enough to get a cab or pay for a driver when he goes out boozing. I never understand how so many athletes get busted for DUI's. It's not like they can't afford to pay someone to chauffeur them.
