belichick is like a politician, expertly answering everything with non answers

I can just picture a garbage time blowout vs the Jets at the meadowlands, they put Tebow in and he scores 2 TD's
He needs a good D to keep teams in games, and the Patriots win because of their offense. They're screwed if Tebow has to take over.

I caught some of the Patriots press conference earlier today….Belichick has to be the most “to the point” coach in the league.

You could tell he was getting aggravated by all of the Tebow questions. If there’s a team/coach in the league that will put an end to the circus that surrounds Tebow, it’s this team!!

He'll just ignore the questions and get tired of them, but he's not going to end them being asked.

I thought most teams only have two active QB's on the roster.

Every team will have a 3rd QB. It's actually a special item on the "inactive" list for each game, as the 3rd QB is allowed to enter the game for injuries, but if it's before the 4th quarter, the other QBs cannot return.

That's just because there isn't a QB controversy. But he'll still get nagged about playing time and changing positions.

Tebow on that team is just another player....nothing more.

on any other team, he's a media magnet and a distraction.

i hate to admit it, but the Patriots have their sh!t together when it comes to handling situations like this.

They got rid of the 3rd QB rule prior to the 2011 season. Prior to 2011 each team could have 45 active players plus a QB who was restricted as you mentioned, but last year they changed it so each team could have 46 active players regardless of position. This led to some teams (like New England) only carrying 2 QBs on their 53-man roster.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he can. While not an NFL quarterback, the kid's a pure football player. You need to find ways to get him on the field without taking Brady off of it.

Only 31 teams disagree. Unless you think there's a mass conspiracy among NFL teams to keep him out of the league the guy is not cut out for the NFL.

i have to disagree. Tebow is a pretty stellar athlete, he proved that @ FL. you don't win the heisman otherwise.

There are plenty of Heisman winners who have been terrible in the NFL.

No team in the league wanted to sign him to play quarterback. It's pretty clear that he has finally decided to be willing to play other positions other than quarterback and the Patriots jumped on that. It's low risk, high reward for them.

I dunno... If he can weed out Mallet who they clearly have no interest in its not inconceivable he gets a shot and can preform... He's delivered enough not only in the NFL but in college when things were at their most dyer and this would be his last shot in preseason, so if he can come out strong the sky is still the limit for him. On the other hand if he looks like garbage in preseason he'll be done and go do motivational speaking.

Why? you got a winner who just needs work on your football team. You and fate of all people should realize what a good grasp the pats have on problem children Moss, FATSWORTH, Ocho, Dillion, exc. Tebow will be even less of a problem and best case scenario he does well in preseason and grows and you have a desired product, worst case he's gone at the end of preseason never to be seen again.

Not only that but look at Brady's 3rd and 4th down percentages its not even worth putting Tebow on the field with numbers like that from the legend.

Not a problem and enjoy that your team is getting a ton of coverage on tv.

So why is he working with Brady and Mallett?

Tim Tebow is not an effective NFL quarterback.

Why would the Patriots play their card this early? I have a really hard time believing New England would sign him to only play quarterback when there are much more competent #3 quarterbacks that are currently free agents. It's pretty obvious the Patriots are going to attempt using him in a lot of schemes.

Chad that's not true several teams contacted his agent about him playing in a different position. Tebow flat out said no im a QB, most teams wanted to run him in I formation or as a 2nd TE that could spread the field. Tebow would have been picked up a month ago had he agreed to play another position for another team.
