What a difference a week makes for Geno Smith.

At this time last week, all the talk about the Jets quarterback centered on whether or not the Jets would be forced to make a quarterback change at some point this season because of Smith’s proclivity for handing the ball over to the opposition. This week, he’s the AFC offensive player of the week.

Diane Feinstein is the senior Senator of California. They aren't exactly a southeast state when it comes to gun control. 5+ years is just lunacy unless that person is a convicted felon.

I think teams/the league will not and should not be that forgiving of criminals especially in light of the hernandez thing, league image can't be good right now

actually looked it up..MA is #3..CA is #1 as far as strict gun laws.

They say he faces up to 4+ years if convicted. Ouch! Perhaps he should be playing for the Jaguars, Dolphins, Bucs, Panthers, or Falcons if he wants semi-automatic assault weapons.

I just purchased my 2nd gun today. It's not hard to get a LTC and buy a gun here in the 3rd strictest state...just can't be a convicted felon

Was it a handgun, shotgun, rifle, or assault weapon. I would think it would be more difficult to purchase a .223 bushmaster type assault rifle than a Colt .45 or Kimber 9 mm.

U.S. Senators have nothing to do with state gun laws. But yes, I agree 5+ years is extreme.

Well it varies by city too. I'm pretty sure for example NYC has stricter gun laws than the state of NY as a whole.

. She is a reflection of the constituency who would vote for their state legislators. Especially since she has been in office since 1992 . And anyone who follows these things knows she is one of the most forefront proponents of gun control. The case was referring to CA state laws. You brought up a federal level legislator who has nothing to do with state laws. That's all I was saying. No silly rolly eyes are necessary Mr. New York.

Depends though. Missouri has a split US Senate (1 Republican, 1 Democrat), but the state legislature is largely Republican leaning.

Given the time elapsed since the supposed incident I'll withhold judgment. I'm sure some smart defense lawyer can get Aldon out of the gun charges. It sounds to me like this guy needs help more than anything.

This did happen awhile ago, but I agree. He's not making good choices right now. You can't do anything you want with disregard for the law. There are protocols that everyone has to follow. Not sure if these type of people are unintelligent or just don't care.
