Hey walruswarrior, if the Jags draft Bortles will you become a Jags fan?
![]() I'd be shock if we don't draft a QB in the 1st Round. Henne is a free agent I believe and there's no future with Gabbert. We have more draft picks than anyone in the league this year. Aside from that we have a good amount of money to spend on free agency to get better defensive players to help out Paul Posluszny (who I believed should of represented the Jags in the Pro Bowl). As for drafting Blake Bortles. I think this will help fill a lot of seats in Jacksonville. In Orlando, the Jaguars brand seems to be nonexistent. Only Jags fans I know are friends that used to attend UCF, and currently reside there now. I don't know if Bortles will fit the scheme with coach Bradley though. |

Plus, the Lions are locked in with Stafford, whereas we are very much looking for a new QB. He may prefer to find a QB on his own (with the help of Webster), although I admit that scares me a bit because without Warner he failed to get a QB in place and failed hard with the Kolb trade. Not sure how much of those failures were on the GM though. Stafford probably could've been great with Whiz... sucks for him he didn't come. |

I'm a big Ray Horton fan (I had even wanted us to look at him as a possible HC) and I've wanted to see what our defense would look like in a 3-4... I think it would definitely help our LBs out, but I'm not sure how it would bode for Casey. And it would create a big need at NT. If we were to switch to a 3-4 I'd like to hire Keith Butler instead. He's been the Steelers LB coach for a decade, working under Dick LeBeau. He's supposed to take over for LeBeau when he retires. Unfortunately, the Steelers probably won't release him from his contract and let him become our DC. Douches. |

In what way is Lions ownership terrible? They stay out of the way and out of the spotlight and let the people they hire run the team. They give people time to succeed (maybe too long) and aren't quick to fire coaches. They have no problem spending money. You can criticize ownership for some of their hires and keeping Millen way too long, but overall I'd rather work for the Ford family than many NFL owners.

Matt Leinart is a complete bum and they've had success in Arizona after he's left, even in probably the toughest division in football. So I'm going to take his word at less than the full weight of an electron.

![]() No seriously, I thought Jim Turner would be the first coach fired. I know players are the one giving up sacks, but since we'll probably have 4 new starters out of 5 on the O-line next year from the 2013 opening game, might as well start over with a new coach. I'm sure David Carr had nightmares watching us play this year... |

I think I prefer what the winners and current/future Hall Famers have to say. Matt Leinart is a chode. As bad as Locker/Fitzpatrick are as a whole (Locker is actually not that bad; he's just never healthy), they're better than pretty much every QB he had on the Cardinals after Warner retired. Whiz has had success everywhere he goes. He was the Steelers OC from 2004-2006... the rapist's first three seasons in the NFL (that's a big deal). Then he helps revive Kurt Warner's career and gets the ARIZONA CARDINALS to the Super Bowl. Then he turns the Chargers from the 31st ranked offense into the 5th ranked offense (and makes Rivers look great again) and had a very balanced approach with run/pass, although it looked pretty weak against the Broncos. The big question for us will be... can Whiz find us a QB? Or can Locker miraculously stay healthy for 16 games? My nightmare is we will get off to a solid start again and Locker gets hurt on a non-contact play, Fitz comes in and we go 7-9 again. Really hoping for Aaron Murray later in the draft... or hoping that one of the top QBs falls to #11, though I'm not really a fan of any of the projected first round guys. |
