So, 14 play-off teams every year and possibly Friday and Monday play-off games? Can you say ratings bonanzas?

Voted Denver because Peyton DESERVES a 2nd ring. I hope he gets it and ties his average brother.

Bronco fans can be as bad too but after the whole food throwing incident, Seattle fans are not making themselves look good right now.

I like the random shot at Philly

I have dreams of him being in Buffalo too, but I would be very surprised if Denver lets him get away. But we can hope, right?

I propose a new rule change: No touchbacks on kickoffs.

To me, there's nothing more anti-climactic than getting all pumped-up for a great kick-off return play and the kicker justs kicks it out of the end zone for another touchback.

They need to hold up a net at the back of the end zone and when the ball is kicked-off, the net will keep deep kicks "in play".
Touchback =

Great in theory, but not in reality. Bottom line is they don't like KO returns. Why? Because of the collisions. A large amount of injuries happen on KOs. If anything look for them to disappear in the next few years. It really isn't a matter of if it will happen, but when.

Roger Goodell makes a lot of money ($29.5 mill in 2012) for running a "charitable organization."

http://deadspin.com/non-profit-execu...012-1506720930

Quote:
The National Football League, as everyone knows, is a not-for-profit charity, the chief purpose of which is to promote the growth of the sport of football. Sure, it rakes in hundreds of millions of tax-exempt dollars annually, and pays its executives tens of millions, but why not? Who can quibble with its sterling track record of football promotion?

Football is safer than it's ever been, and we've got Goodell to thank for that. He surely earned at least half of his salary just by thinking up new ways to penalize thuggish players for illegal hits to the head while allowing us to enjoy clean, healthy helmet-to-helmet smashes, which are still awesome.

When not making sure we can watch the game with a clear conscience, Goodell's NFL is writing big checks to other charities—why, in 2012 alone the league donated $2.3 million. $2.1 million of that was paid to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, surely a worthy choice. (What entity does more to promote the American values of football better than Canton's majestic museum?) And none of this touches on the concussion lawsuit settlement—surely a benevolent act of charity in its own right.

We have more cap space and are in dire need of a WR. But I think you're right. We'd have to really overpay to sign him.

The NFL is not classified as a charitable organization, it's a 501(c)6, which is the IRS classification for business leagues, chambers of commerce, boards of trade, and similar organizations. If it was a charitable organization it would be a 501(c)3.

The NFL does not save a lot of money by being a non-profit because it gives nearly all of it's revenue back to the 32 NFL owners, who do have to pay tax on the earnings because while the league is a non-profit the 32 teams are not. A study from last year showed that if the NFL, PGA tour, and NHL gave up their non-profit status they would only pay about $10 million a year in total taxes. The tax savings are so minimal that MLB gave up it's non-profit status in 2008 and the NBA has never been a non-profit.

We are in severe need of a WR as well. When Scott Chandler leads your team in receiving, you have problems at receiver. I think Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin have bright futures, but TJ Graham has never done much for us and I doubt he will see the field much next year. There are rumors about Stevie Johnson being on the trade block, and no one knows his future with us. His antics are not something our new coaching staff is very fond of. He either needs to shape up or ship out. Ultimately though, I think we will look to the draft to upgrade our receiving depth rather than overpay for someone like Decker.

I'd love to see us take Evans at #9, but I also like Jordan Matthews a lot that we might be able to snag in the 2nd round. That #9 pick might be better used on a LB, OL, or TE. (I wouldn't be surprised if we traded back either to grab an extra pick) Stevie Johnson is infuriating because he is quite good, but when he loses his composure he hurts the team.

Over a million viewers are expected to watch the Super Bowl on Feb. 2, but Tom Brady will not be one of them.

The New England Patriots quarterback revealed in his weekly radio appearance with WEEI-FM on Wednesday that he won't be tuning in to the Fox coverage of the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. "Truthfully, I could care less about watching the game. That's pretty much how I feel," he said.

STORY: Super Bowl: Disney Seeking Last-Minute Ad Buy

Brady's remarks comes after the Patriots 16-26 loss to the Broncos on Sunday, which foiled his hopes to play in Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

"I don't have much of a rooting interest, truthfully," he admitted. "Those games are hard to watch. I don't really see myself sitting down to enjoy a football game to watch it. Our season's over... It's a very abrupt end."

PHOTOS: Puppy Bowl X Preview: Designer Dogs, Penguin Cheerleaders and Fantasy Four-Legged Football

Brady's apathy in no way marked his disrespect for Peyton Manning's Broncos or the Seahawks, led by second-year QB Russell Wilson.

"Those two teams really earned it. They’ve played good over the course of the whole season," the three-time Super Bowl champion told WEEI.

In the run up to the NFL's first ever cold weather Super Bowl, last Sunday's NFC and AFC Championship games were ratings winners for both Fox and CBS.

STORY: TV Ratings: NFL Conference Championship Games Soar

The first game of the day, Denver's victory over New England, averaged 51.3 million viewers on CBS. That's the highest average for a CBS-aired AFC championship in 32 years and is behind only 2011's 54.9 million-strong AFC showdown between Pittsburgh and the New York Jets as the conference's best showing in recent history.

Fox's NFC championship game between Seattle and San Francisco proved an even bigger draw, averaging 55.9 million viewers, an NFC best for Fox since 1995 -- not counting games that went into overtime -- and was up 33 percent from the NFC championship last year.

PLus... It's Bruno Mars doing the half time... everyone has to find something better to do at least during that. (Except for ugly girls who can't get enough of that song saying they are beautiful just the way they are.)
