Mike Silver says McKenzie may be fired before the draft. If that happens the NFL needs to do something about Mark Davis (or Tommy Boy as people in the organization nicknamed him when his dad was still alive), because it's clear he shouldn't be running an NFL team.
Problem is what can the NFL do hes not breaking any rules hes just a crappy owner.

I don't understand the Patriots
They convince Brady to restructure so they can keep some key players, then they let go of Welker.
The next year, they let Edelman walk (probably), and make a new guy (Revis) the highest paid player on the team.

It's not fair to the players and it's not fair to the fans. And I don't see how it makes good business sense.

But I guess in that division, all you have to do is show up.

Confirming: two-year, $32 million deal for Darrelle Revis. $11.5m guaranteed. Second year is a club option for $20m.

Because there's the option on Revis' deal, I believe that splits his cap hit, and makes his cap hit $6.5 million for 2014.
2 yr deal for cap purposes

6.5 mill cap hit this year or right around

Slot receivers are expendable here (as you can see). Revis is a elite CB that the pats haven't had since the Law days. Long time ago. I don't know why it isn't fair to me as a fan? But it's the NFL. A business.

Pats didn't let Welker go, he chose to leave. Before free agency started the Pats offered Welker a deal and he rejected it, so when free agency began they chose to move on to Amendola. Bob Kraft has stated numerous times that the deal they offered Welker had more guaranteed money and a higher average salary than what Welker got in Denver, but Welker's agent misjudged the market and by the time he learned Welker's real value it was too late.

As for Edelman, there's no guarantee he doesn't return to the Patriots. The Pats tried to sign him before free agency but he chose to hit the open market. Once he gets offers he could choose to return to NE. This is one of the deepest free agent receiver markets ever and Edelman has only had one good season so he might not get the big money offer he's hoping for. If he does leave the Pats will sign a veteran like Steve Smith or Emmanuel Sanders to replace him.

Steve Smith would be good in NE with Brady throwing to him.

I wonder where MJD is going to land. Signing Toby Gerhart for 3 years the other day is the sign that MJD will not wear the teal and black. So sad but it's part of the business. I'm really stoked though with the upcomong offseason transactions this team is going to make before and after the draft.

In a few years though, MJD will sign a 1 day contract and retire as a Jaguar.

I'm starting to wonder if MJD might be done. He turns 29 later this month and is coming off an injury-plagued season in 2012 and a subpar season in 2013. Teams nowadays are looking for young, cheap running backs so MJD might be looking at a best-case scenario of a non-guaranteed one-year deal for the veteran minimum. He may decide that making that isn't worth another year of getting beat up and just call it a career. If I were to guess I'd say he'll play next year (possibly as a Jet) but I wouldn't consider it a certainty.

So the Jags are going to field 11 DL for the year. Nice

Mark Long ✔ @APMarkLong

So Jaguars have Chris Clemons, Red Bryant, Jason Babin, Andre Branch, Tyson Alualu and Ryan Davis at D-end. Could add Clowney

So upset that the Carolina Panthers have cut Steve Smith

Once my girlfriend hears the news, I think she'll be hoping he lands a gig with the Packers, even though they're relatively deep at receiver.

Wilfork has asked for his release. I am surprised he asked to be cut. But i am not surprised he is being released based on his injury and age.

A great Patriot Vice...goodluck buddy

I can think of a lot of problems with both our Franchises, biggest difference is your coach at least had a good defense at 1x.

I mean lets be real off the top of my head what idiot signs a DE to a contract where 22 million goes against the cap in a single season with no guarantee said player is going to renegotiate? Just because my team does something dumb does not mean I am the type of person that does not have a clue. Now it is possible the Jets tried to move into St Louis spot in the draft and couldn't get a deal done we don't fully know the entire story. Just me personally I dont see Eric Decker as a number 1 I see him as a bi product of Peyton Manning and Geno Smith is no Peyton Manning.
Dude you signed Golden Tate for 1 million less per year than we signed Eric Decker, but our signing was bad.... We are not paying him as a #1. We are paying him as an elite #2, which is what he is. His guaranteed money is not even half of his contract. I wasn't aware Decker is making 10+ million per year. The argument that Decker is a product of Manning is laughable. The dude was putting up numbers with Tebow as his QB. He had 8 TD's that year BTW. We still have a decent D. We just have to upgrade the secondary a bit.

Furthermore, it shows that you know nothing of our franchise. A big problem of our franchise was our GM. He has since been fired for signing insane contracts, which is why our talent level was so depleted last year. Idzik comes from Seattle, and he is waaayyy better than Tanny. Revis cashed his own check out of NY. Constantly holding out led Woody to be sick and tired of him. Rex loves him sure, but when your dealing with his BS on a constant basis, then it's time to move on. No CB is worth 16 million per year. If he took 12 million per year, he would probably still be on the Jets. Have fun in NE. He just better be ready to understand the nuances of video equipment.

Running backs often get screwed on contracts due to their short lifespan in the NFL. Hard to believe but MJD never even made $5 mill in any season. He attempted a holdout once, but caved when he realized he had no leverage on the JAgs.

When have I said I liked the Golden Tate signing, Our biggest problem right now is Suh counts as 22 million against our cap number this year. I wanted the Lions to go defense and grab one of the top safeties on the market. I wanted the Lions to get experienced defenders and Draft a CB Round 1 and a WR Round 2, and TE Round 3.

Also I never specified WHEN your owner and GM screwed the pooch on things, I just knew they messed crap up bad. Your 100% right I don't know every facet of the Jets organization. I know Rex is on thin ice, I know there's issues with Sanchez, if im correct you have potential line issues, but overall its just broad thoughts based on what I watched. For your sake i hope to god Geno Smith has a much better sophomore season.

If Weaver and Del Rio were still there during MJD's 2012 holdout. They would of probably given him that extended contract. Instead Shad and Mularkey came aboard and didn't think that way of MJD which led to him missing all of the offseason workouts and the entire preaseason. If he was there to get all his reps and workouts in it could of prevented his downfall and I believe he could of probably been still healthy. Both injuries occured against Oakland with his family there to witness it.

Rex has the backing of the owner. Could that change? Of course, but as long as we don't go 4-12 this year, he should be safe. I would hope that Geno gets better. His game improved over the last quarter of the season, but who knows. Any QB would have been setup for failure with that offensive talent. I like the Decker signing. He's an elite #2, and he's being paid like it. Now if we can sign another WR like Nicks or James Jones that will give Geno even more options to go along with Kerley who is a good slot WR. You're right we need help on the right side of the line, but we made a lateral signing with Gia, who is essentially the same player Howard was, but much cheaper (Thanks Oakland). Now we need a RG after not resigning Colon.

Justin Tuck goes to the Raiders on a decent contract. 2 years 11 million. Not a bad signing Navi. Much better than Saffold.
