Congrats to Jim Kelly! He may not have been able to beat the Giants Redskins or Cowboys in the Super Bowl but he won the battle that mattered!

Quote:
A physical examination of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly revealed no evidence of cancer, according to a press release Wednesday from the New York Head & Neck Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Kelly underwent the examination three months after completing seven weeks of radiation and three rounds of chemotherapy for sinus cancer.

A series of tests over the coming weeks will determine if Kelly requires any more treatment.

"Jim Kelly was evaluated yesterday at the New York Head & Neck Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, three months after having completed the radiation and chemotherapy protocol designed to treat his recurrent sinus cancer. Dr. Peter Constantino, Executive Director of the Institute, stated that, 'The treatments so far have completely eliminated Mr. Kelly's pain, and his level of function has essentially returned to normal. Further, on physical examination, there is no evidence of the cancer.'

Over the coming week, a series of tests will be performed to determine if any further treatment will be necessary. Constantino added, 'It is possible that no further treatment will be required, and the testing over the next week will define this issue.'"

Fans have rallied in support of the Buffalo Bills star. On Tuesday, Kelly's wife, Jill, posted on her Facebook page asking followers to pray for her husband and saying the Kelly family was "encouraged and hopeful."

CBS Pittsburgh's Colin Dunlap reports Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were arrested for possession of marijuana Wednesday, while Bell was also booked for DUI.

Per Dunlap, Bell and Blount were in possession of 20 grams of pot and were accompanied by another female, who was in possession of two grams. All three were said to be "cooperative." While this obviously isn't good news, it may have no affect on Bell or Blount's status for the 2014 season. Bell had no real off-field concerns coming out of Michigan State. But Blount has a shaky track record. Both will be in line for potential suspensions once the case is resolved.

Come on Sycro you are better then that. Anyways, I think this is a make or break season for Tomlin if he doesn't make the playoffs I believe he is gone.

**** the Steelers. We're going for three in a row against that old ass overrated team. I like Mike Tomlin, but he's gotta be the most overrated coach in the league. He inherited Cowher's team and hasn't done very much to rebuild it at all IMO.

MNF week 11 in Nashville. Can't wait.

Are you going to it? It's a nice stadium, went last year to it to see UK played (my boss is an UK fan, so I sucked it up) lol.

Yea... I'm at all our home games. I'm very fortunate... even as bad as we've been the past several years.

I'm one of the few real Titan fans. No bandwagon BS. It was a great experience back in 1999-2003 and again in 2008. There have been very few games since then in which we had loud and full fan support. It's a shame. We still sell out every game, but it has been 50/50 our fans and opposing fans sometimes, and that disgusts me.

And it's an okay stadium. The jumbotron additions back in 2012 made it much better. Our jumbotrons in the past were awful... There have been talks/rumors about building a new one several years down the road with a retractable roof in hopes of hosting a Super Bowl. This is at least a decade out if it's even plausible. Need more hotels in the city.

He didn't say anything to get suspended over. Frankly, he was spot on with his comments.

you know someone is going to complain, and keep in mind this is the same company the fired hank williams jr over his obama comments. So i can see him getting suspended.

Ditka is bulletproof. He won't even get a slap on the wrist for this. ESPN knows that if they suspended Ditka for this there's a good chance he would just quit, and they aren't going to risk that. Maybe they'll force him to make a public apology, but I'd be shocked if he was punished worse than that.

Too politically correct these days. Makes me sick to hear people say they have a problem with the name just to conform to the PC ways of the world, without really caring one way or another.

Analysts used the term when referring to the Redskins team for decades, and now all the sudden this year everyone is either being forced to say it's an offensive name or they feel obligated to agree with whatever the politically correct thing is.

People always knew it was technically a slang term, but they still used the team name. It's not like 2014 rolls around and everyone is just learning what the term meant. But that's what everyone makes it seem like... "Oh sh*t Redskins is a slang term for Native Americans?!"

No such thing as freedom of speech anymore. I'm not a political person, and I have voted both Democrat and Republican in previous elections. I just hate the fact that everything this country has ever stood for is being challenged and destroyed.

I will actually be sure to say 'Redskins' more this season while some will try to avoid saying it altogether.

I hope Ditka does the same, and I better not hear a damn forced apology from him. No reason to apologize, Mike. Don't do it.

I think it's sad so many people are willing to say "The group offended is small so it is no big deal", which is what people saying "We've been using it forever so it should stay" are actually saying.

If it was a derogatory term for a larger group it would have changed ages ago, tradition be damned.

A polled 90% of Native Americans do not find the term offensive...

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2013/...ins-is-a-slur/

So yea... 10% are offended. Well, I'm sure 10% of Americans find the gay population offensive. Should we outlaw homosexuals to appease the 10% who are offended? Extreme example maybe, but there are plenty of people out there offended... doesn't mean their needs should be met.

Can't give in to every single "issue" in the world. Too politically correct, as I've said.

I find the 49ers name offensive because my ancestors might have failed in the gold rush to California I think we need to change that team name.
