Whenever a scandal comes up agents should tell their players to not comment on it on Twitter. Here's Paul George's take on the Ray Rice situation:

Unless it comes out that Goodell saw the video (and therefore has been lying repeatedly) I don't see him resigning or being fired. I could see plenty of people in his office getting fired, but Goodell is very well-liked by the owners and during his tenure franchise values and revenues have skyrocketed.

Well I don't like him, he's sissfying the game and over-marketing it to Europe. The fact that he wants a Super Bowl over there tells me he doesn't really understand the sport.

Unlike some here, I'll be waiting for the Mueller investigation to finish before I make any "knee-jerk" conclusions about the fate of Roger Goodell.

I just question how truly independent the investigation will be. Mueller's firm WilmerHale has plenty of history with the NFL. They represented the NFL in their Sunday Ticket negotiations with DirecTV. The NFL's #2 attorney, Jay Bauman, worked at WilmerHale before joining the NFL. The team presidents of both the Browns and Ravens are former WilmerHale attorneys. It seems to me that if they truly wanted an independent investigation they would have chosen a firm that they weren't connected to and who will surely want to continue working with the NFL in the future.

These investigative firms are only as good as their reputation. If they start "mishandling" investigations, based on bias, they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

A scenario i could see though is if its proven that the nfl did get the tape even if goodell didnt see it that so much bad public pr builds up that goodell is lying about seeing it that the owners feel they have to fire him....especially if sponsors start gettin jittery.

Right, and there's lots of staff that can be thrown under the bus before Roger would be fired. They will have to prove that Roger saw the video. I do not think that that evidence is going to be there.

But, of course this whole saga, is evidence that Roger Goodell, and the owners, and the NFL, really do not get Domestic Violence, and the National problem that that is.

But, they do get Breast Cancer awareness.... How Comforting !!

Man Up NFL, and dump the Breast Cancer Feel-Good dance, and make Domestic Violence Awareness your Signature Campaign.

Franchise values in every major American sport have skyrocketed in recent decades. It doesn't make any difference who the NFL commissioner is, people will still watch the NFL in record numbers. Anyone short of Bernie Madoff could be NFL Commissioner and the league would still thrive. Roger Goodell isn't anything special.

Goodell isn't going anywhere. I do now feel fairly confident he saw the tape and lied. The "investigation" will probably just end up placing the blame on some obscure underling though.
