Totally agree! Such a dumb OT rule.

Or Peyton could have played better and led Denver to more than 20 points in regulation. That would have been enough to win. Is 21 points of offense really asking THAT much?

Well, Whitehurst is the backup for now, but I think by midseason Mettenberger will start suiting up. Surely the coaching staff wants to get a look at him before going into the offseason. He's still less than a year out from the ACL tear.

Mettenberger looked pretty damn good for a rookie in the preseason. There was a lot of hype around Bortles and Carr, but Mettenberger looked just as good. The five turnovers are what turned people away, but three weren't his fault. FWIW led the NFL in passing during the preseason. Means nothing, but there is major potential there. He's accurate and has a big arm.

If Locker continues playing this way, our players will be begging for Mettenberger in no time.

So there are only 4 undefeated teams left: Arizona, Carolina(pending tonight's game), Cincy & Philly.
Of those four teams, nobody picked Arizona or Cincy in the poll.
2 picked Carolina
4 picked Philly

This could be finished tonight.

If DeMarco Murray didn't fumble every game he'd be my early season MVP pick.

C'mon Mettenberger!

pretty excited about beating Green Bay with pretty much only our defense and 1 play from Reggie Bush. Stafford was terrible..but it was mainly Peppers getting in his face all night. Our o-line probably sucks, i haven't checked stats but they gotta be.

Those Colts teams had some terrible defenses. In all the years he was there only a couple times did his defense rank top 10 in the league.

The year they won the Superbowl the Colts were 21st in Total defense, 24th in scoring defense.

Let's not pretend Manning was somehow holding those Colts teams back in the post-season.

It continues to be absurd that rings and wins are viewed as QB stats. This is pretty much the dumbest belief in all of sports.

Peyton should have just retired with his near-broken neck to to satisfy his detractors. Who would then have called him a quitter.

No college rules suck.

Just make nfl rule each team gets the ball at least once.

I agree with this. If the team that gets the ball first scores a TD then the other team gets a chance to tie. If the team that gets the ball first doesn't score then it becomes sudden death.

I actually like the overtime rules. If the D can't stop them from scoring, they deserve to lose.
