Rihanna is way too risque, and they don't want another incident.
NFL wouldn't go with Rihanna for the simple fact when the Ray Rice stuff all went down they pulled her song and she was pissed. Honestly NFL should have learned you cant go wrong with a classic act. The Who were great, Prince Great, McCartney great, Stones great. They should have called like Metallica or Kiss or something that would have been a fantastic half time show.

Bon Jovi would be a good halftime performance as well.

My parents were so happy when they announced Paul McCartney doing the halftime show in Jacksonville back in 2005 the last time New England won the Super Bowl. I could of sworn my parents kept replaying that tape over and over again.

I don't understand how Bon Jovi didn't end up as last season's halftime act when the game was in New Jersey. Bon Jovi is pretty much synonymous with New Jersey.

Bon Jovi actually closed out the Super Bowl in between the Pats first 2 Super Bowl wins, when the Bucs beat the Raiders.

Theyre trying to get acts that have a wider range of appeal rather than just a rock group.

I dont understand that one either, the guy has a catalog of so many distinguishable songs its not funny. Tommy and Jeanie hello... The guy could easily do a 15 minute melody lol.

Yeah because the shows with Janet, Brittany, Madonna, etc were so damn successful . The best halftime show by far is Prince, when he busted into Purple Rain and it started raining it was just perfect. Now Michael Jackson at XXVII that would be something everyone can get behind cause the guy was talented and not fake. But the people they get now honestly are no talented hacks, they might as well have just given us a Nickleback and Beiber performance for all anyone is gonna care about this show.

I don't have a problem with it. It wouldn't have been my choice and there's plenty of others I'd rather see but there's also plenty of choices that are popular right now that I would have despised. I'm hoping I'll get to see it live because I'll definitely go to the Super Bowl if the Patriots are playing, but I don't expect that to happen.

That's why all her shows sell out, and she has how many #1 hits. Just saying. They could have went with a lot worse acts. God if I have to see a similar act to the Stones again I swear I'll revolt lol. That show was horrendous.

Everyone is going to have near record breaking numbers simply because everyone watches the superbowl since 2000 no matter how bad the act was everyone nearly or does set records.Superbowl game itself scores near a 90 on the ratings which is equivalent to about 110-115 million people.

Exactly! The halftime show is the only time I have to re-stock food/drinks and hit the Water Closet.
Since the game and commercials are must see!

And one of my 12-team leagues experienced the first AP drop.
Amazing how the guy can go from first rounder to toxic.
