Patriots and Packers look like the teams to beat If that's the Super Bowl, I hope it's a 0-0 tie.

I don't think I've watched the Cards once this year, but I know the story. 2 games ahead of everybody in the NFC, lost their QB but it doesn't really matter, etc. Are they a legitimate Super Bowl team?

Actually Dallas started in '66, but I digress...
A tradition in Detroit and Dallas maybe...it's certainly no tradition of mine.
The tradition for most(if not all) not a fan of those 2 team is FOOTBALL on Thanksgiving, not Detroit/Dallas.
As I said, give other teams a chance to get in on the action.
Yeah I was thrilled to watch an 0-16 Detroit team play on Thanksgiving, a few years ago.
Give me a break. How many playoff wins between those 2 team in the last TWO DECADES? Yeah, I'm all for a healthy rotation of teams.
And you have the healthy rotation at 8pm on Thanksgiving as the 49ers and Seahawks play

Healthy rotation = none of the 6 teams from the previous year play.

That would be an epic Superbowl, for sure!
Still way too early to predict these things, as anything can(and will) happen.

As I mentioned before, we are now in the "Mathematical" part of the season.

Detroit? Can you blame people for not tuning in, regardless of who they play.
I'm sorry but they haven't been relevant in very long time.
The 3rd game is on the NFL Network, which is not shown in as many homes.
So, again, the only way to really test the ratings theory is to subtract Dallas(and Detroit FTM) from the equation.
I can only hope that happens soon!

Wow, pulled himself out of the game, pouting over playing time? Really Ahmad?

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11...oves-self-game

Quote:
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who did not seem to take a liking to the reduction in his playing time caused by Aldon Smith's return to the lineup, illustrated his displeasure by taking himself out of Sunday's 16-10 win over the New York Giants, according to multiple media reports.

Brooks did not play in the second half and played only the first two-plus series. He confirmed after the game that he is healthy.

"We're working through something," Niners coach Jim Harbaugh said.

At his locker after the game, Brooks declined to comment on his situation.

"I'm not taking questions today," he said. "Maybe later in the week. ... Yeah, we're working through something."

Brooks started over Smith on Sunday but saw much of his playing time split. Also getting plays in the nickel package was Aaron Lynch.

"Honestly, I don't know what happened there," Lynch told reporters when asked about Brooks. "I don't know what the deal was. I love the guy. He's a big brother to me. As far as what happened off the field or on the field, I don't know what happened."

Brooks was previously at the center of a trade rumor that had him going to Cleveland last month. Still, Harbaugh indicated Brooks' roster spot was safe.

"We need Ahmad Brooks to win a championship," he said.

The Dallas Thanksgiving game was the highest viewed game last year.

Dallas was involved in 5 of the top 10 viewed games of last year. No other team was in more than 3 of the top 10 games, and both of those had one of their appearances against Dallas. Those being Broncos and Packers.

You need to give up on any kind of belief that they are going to remove Dallas from a Thanksgiving Day game on the off chance that they will get better ratings.

He's a Cowboy hater. His comments shouldn't come as a surprise.

Uhh, Wow...

Drunk Jaguars Player Tried To Use Bubble Gum As Money

Dwayne Gratz had a weird Saturday night. Or maybe Sunday morning. At 5:53 a.m. on Sunday, Miami beach police arrested the Jaguars cornerback and cited him for disorderly intoxication and trespassing after trying to pay for items at a store with bubble gum.

The police report, which you can read below, says Gratz tried to use gum because he did not have any money. The convenience story employee asked Gratz to leave, and when he refused, called the police. Officers observed that Gratz smelled like alcohol and had bloodshot eyes, and booked him on the two misdemeanor counts.

Gratz spent the day and night in jail, before bonding out Monday morning. The Jaguars were off this weekend, but Gratz missed today's practice. Jacksonville head coach Gus Bradley called it an "unfortunate situation" and said it will be handled internally.

I've never disputed Dallas is a ratings magent, despite only 1 playoff win in 2 decades, and plays from a big market. My point is until they are removed and other teams play on Fox, we'll never know.
And I'll keep my belief, thank you very much.

You need to stop now cause you sound like an uneducated person

NFL 2012 Thanksgiving DAY ratings 2012

The FOX Thanksgiving game (Redskins-Cowboys) was watched by an average of 28.7 million viewers topping all programs for the week (Nov. 19-25) and ranking as the most-watched show of the fall TV season.

The CBS Thanksgiving game (Texans-Lions) was the second most-watched show of the week with an average of 27.3 million viewers -- the fourth consecutive CBS Thanksgiving game to top 25 million viewers.

NBC’s Sunday Night Football (Packers-Giants) was the week’s most-watched primetime show averaging 20.9 million viewers with NBC’s Patriots-Jets Thanksgiving night game ranking second in primetime with an average of 19.2 million viewers. NBC’s Thanksgiving night viewership is tops all-time among primetime Thanksgiving games and the most-watched Thursday night program on any network since the Summer Olympics.

NFL Thanksgiving 2013

The CBS Thanksgiving game (Raiders-Cowboys) was watched by an average of 31.7 million viewers topping all programs for the week (Nov. 25- Dec. 1) and ranking as the most-watched show of the fall TV season.

The FOX Thanksgiving game (Packers-Lions) was the second most-watched show of the week with an average of 28.3 million viewers.

The CBS Sunday national telecast (mostly Broncos-Chiefs) was the third most-watched show of the week with an average of 28.1 million viewers. NFL programming accounted for eight of the top 10 shows of the week.

NFL Thanksgiving 2011

The CBS Thanksgiving game (Dolphins-Cowboys) drew 30.9 million viewers – the most for a CBS Thanksgiving game since it acquired the AFC package in 1998 and ranking as the most-watched television show this fall (pending Friday release of FOX Thanksgiving game viewership). In addition, the CBS Sunday national telecast (mostly Patriots-Eagles) drew 26.3 million viewers – the network’s most-watched Sunday telecast of the season.

The FOX Thanksgiving game (Packers-Lions) drew a 15.8 overnight rating, tying with 1998 Vikings-Cowboys as the network’s highest-rated game on the holiday since 1996 (Redskins-Cowboys, 17.0). (Viewership figures for the FOX game will be available on Friday, according to The Nielsen Company. It will rank with the CBS Thanksgiving game as the two most-watched programs of the week and the fall TV season).

NBC’s Sunday Night Football (Steelers-Chiefs) drew 20.3 million viewers and was the most-watched primetime program of the week (November 21-27).

As long as the ratings are going up which they are the NFL will never remove Dallas and Detroit especially since it has been a staple since 1934 in Detroit, and 1966 in Dallas
