Tirico/Gruden made a mistake last night.

They said nfc south winner can win the division yet still get a top 10 draft pick cause of their lousy record....thats wrong.

Non playoff teams pick 1-20 & playoff teams 21-32 even if a playoff team has a worse record than a non playoff team so at best they would be 21.

I guess that might be one small reason, among a list of many, Atlanta might be looking for a new HC next season.

You are more likely to get 10 yards passing than running. The clock will stop after the next play regardless if you take it before the 2 minute. They run the ball to keep the clock moving, which will not happen in that situation.

I'm not so sure they win the South. If they don't, and after last season's debacle, that's almost a surefire HC change.

The toughest schedule between: Atlanta/New Orleans/Carolina seems to be Atlanta's.
Believe it or not, I think Carolina will walk away with this division!

Something about that tie game that just screams we will win the division with it.

Yep, he sure was!
Plus let's face it, divisions are a geographic luxury for travel. They have very little to do with standings, short of the fact a division winner HAS to make the playoffs which is crap. I understand the necessity of having divisions, put for the playoffs, it should be the top 6 teams from the Conference. That way, all season long you're playing against the Conference, not the Division.
I'm so glad the NHL got a little better with this, as their playoff situation FOR YEARS was a just a debacle.

Let's say Atlanta "runs the table", finishes 8-8, wins the division and loses in the first round to a team with a better record. I don't see that saving the Head Coach's job. Not with so much great talent, possibly, coming from the college ranks.

Personally I can't stand they guy, but I sure hope he can hit Josh Gordon on the 80yd TD bomb!
I feel bad for Hoyer, as he's the local guy and all. Hopefully Manziel stinks it up even more.

To me it's all about projection.

Rickah used 8-8 but I'm going to go with 7-9. If your team wins the division with 7-9, that doesn't strike confidence in me about my coach going into the future.

But 10-6? 10 wins is extremely hard. 10 wins says we're moving in the right direction, lets keep building on this success.

The only silver lining is that they are undefeated in their division right now.

The Browns pretty much have to start Manziel. After losing Sunday they're practically out of playoff contention as they're behind all the other 6 loss teams on tiebreakers so even if they won out they probably wouldn't make the playoffs. They now will get a chance to see what Manziel can do and if he does well they can let Hoyer leave in free agency with no effort to keep him, but if he stinks it up maybe they try to keep Hoyer to compete with Manziel for the starting job in camp.

Cam Newton was reportedly injured in a car crash this morning. There's not many details yet about the accident or his condition, but his car ended up on it's passenger side, and Cam was loaded in an ambulance on a stretcher.

Certainly not life threatening, but not being able to stand up could mean his season is over
