It doesn't matter from a division standpoint (assuming a Packers week 16 win) if Detroit wins against the Bears in week 16 since they would hold the head to head tiebreaker if they beat the Packers in week 17. The Lions game is important though from a wild card and seeding standpoint, as a win (or Eagles loss) would clinch a playoff berth.

Colts already clinched a playoff spot and they don't have a good shot at a bye so I like the Cowboys chances in this one.

I was looking at the flex schedule info on NFL.com. It appears as though they only flex to SNF if there is a SNF game scheduled, and for week 17 there isn't a SNF game scheduled. There are 1:00pm EST and 4:00pm EST games scheduled and that's it.

I'm guessing the game could be flexed into a 4:00pm game slot, since there are far fewer games scheduled during those slots. Thus, more markets who either have no game, or meaningless games scheduled to broadcast would have a chance for a potential playoff implication game.

But, first things first, let's get week 16 out of the way. If they both win, that week 17 game is HUGE. If either lose in week 16, it's much less interesting.

I don't say this often, but, GO BEARS in week 16.

Pittsburgh/Cincy
Green Bay/Detroit

Would be the most likely candidates, assuming both matchups have teams vying for the division.

Yeah, could be as many as 3 week 17 games for the division title with Atlanta-Carolina, Green Bay-Detroit, and Cincinnati-Pittsburgh all possibilities. It's the NFL's call on what week 17 game is flexed and not NBC's, but I can't imagine the league would choose a game between 2 teams with losing records to showcase on SNF if there's other options available.

Thanks for the clarification. Wonder why NFL.com doesn't show that breakdown as well?

I'd love to have Packers/Lions on SNF. I'm hoping my wife has tickets to the game under the tree in 10 days. Even if the game isn't huge, I love me some Lambeau Field in December.

How ironic would it be if the nfc south winner knocks off the seahawks in the first round?

As long as it's not the Saints, I would be so happy!

For purely selfish reasons I want him to play this week since I'm in the fantasy finals this week and he's my best player.

WOW. He's having surgery, so that doesn't bode well for him playing the next two weeks. Even if he does, I don't imagine they'll let him run 30 times. I know your hand takes a beating every time you get tackled.

Not only that, but depending on which hand(not sure?), you are going to have to run towards different sides, which means being able to grip the ball with either hand. Obviously, if he does play they will be running towards the side of this strong hand, so the ball is near the sideline.
This could be a huge dagger for FF!

I would be surprised if he was back before the playoffs. (Assuming the Cowboys make the postseason)

This is a big win for the Eagles.

The Jags opened as 3-point favorites against the Titans this week. It's the first time Jacksonville has been favored in 42 games.
