Darth, you little out there on this list aren't you? Romo is a top 10 QB not top 3. And this is coming from a 30 year Dallas fan & a Romo supporter.

I would love for someone to construct an argument as to why Romo was not top 3 this last year.

1st in QBR (Yes, ESPN's made up stat, but still)
1st in Quarterback Rating
1st in Completion %
1st in Yards/Pass
4th in TD passes(behind Luck, Peyton, Rodgers)
2nd in TD:Interception ratio(behind only Rodgers)

The only stat he's not up there in is yards/game, and after 10 years or so of hearing how Romo's super high yards/game don't count I don't even want to hear an argument as to how that counts against him this year.

Terjyn, you are speaking solely on stats of this most current season. In that aspect, yes he would qualify as a top 3 QB. But career wise he is top 5/6 realistically. I've been in his corner since he was playing back up to Bledsoe & Hutchinson. There's no need to attack the Romo supporters by the way, save that for the naysayers & haters.

Romo has had a half-dozen great years.

Only people who don't pay attention think otherwise.

Romo is arguably the most under-rated player in the game today. He has the 2nd highest passer rating of ALL TIME for cryin' out loud. Ahead of Peyton Manning. Ahead of Tom Brady. Ahead of Drew Brees. Ahead of Big Ben. It's criminal how people have painted him with the Cowboy hater brush.

No worries. But you know that in the end Romo will not be remembered by how good his QB rating was or how many yards he threw for. If he doesn't win a SB or even Conference championship within the next 2-3 years he will be remembered as a decent QB but just couldn't win it all. I want nothing more than Dallas to win another championship but I feel this season was their best shot for awhile.

Yes Romo will be remembered as a failure. He's remembered for the early years, when he was inexperienced, and yes...threw a lot of Interceptions.

Since that time he can't shake the reputation even though the reputation hasn't applied in like 6 years. He's up there with the best in the league in 4th quarter TD drives, game winning drives, TDs, completion %, all the stats which should matter.

But because his Dallas teams have sucked balls, and people inexplicably think Wins and Losses are a QB stat, Romo will be forever under-appreciated.

I really, really like Jones though. His potential is through the roof, and he looks like a legit NFL prospect.

He could technically declare for the draft, and he would absolutely get taken at some point even with only a few games under his belt, but he has the potential to be THE top prospect in the draft either next year or the following year IMO.

He's the best NFL prospect out of all of OSU's QBs. I could see both Barrett and Jones transferring.

If we continue to suck this bad, we could end up with Jones.

We can agree on something... I really think he thinks his opinion is worth more because he supports a successful team, like he has anything to do with their success.

I hope you're right. Let him struggle for 2 seasons, then maybe the Eagles can swoop in and pluck him up for a much cheaper price! All part of the Mad Scientist's plan!

Interesting that the NFL has no clue what coaches to use for the Pro Bowl. From Adam Schefter's Facebook page:

Quote:
The NFL is trying to figure out which coaches to use in the Pro Bowl because right now, it’s a mystery. Coaches from the highest-seeded teams that lose in the Divisional Playoffs are supposed to coach the Pro Bowl. Problem is, this year that means the Denver Broncos, whose head coach has been fired and whose assistants are looking for work, and the Dallas Cowboys, whose assistant coaches aren’t under the contract. The NFL is exploring how to address the dilemma, per sources familiar with the situation.
A slight addition I'd put to Schefter's report is it's not just the Cowboys assistants that aren't under contract, head coach Jason Garrett also isn't under contract. Schefter says it's possible they'll use the Ravens and Panthers staffs, but right now there's no solution.
