He'll report. It's in the best interest of both sides to restructure his deal. He has little guaranteed money for '16 and we can even out the cap hits. I would be surprised if his contract wasn't reworked.

Not many players willingly want to go and play in Buff..let alone get traded there

He'll be fine once the shock wears off. It's probably not a good feeling to get traded. But he was just put in a great situation with us. We were a piece or two away from being legit contenders, and he should be one of those pieces. (Assuming the trade goes through)

He lived in Penn. his whole life, I believe. The trade was unexpected. Reasonable to be upset but I agree he'll get over it.

A great situation though? I'm not too sure. He was in a great situation and is now in a good situation IMO.

I agree with your first point. He never expected to be traded, and was clearly blindsided. But, we should be a damn good football team next year. Shady will have a lot of success in Buffalo.

Except he's told people for several weeks he thought he would be traded or cut.

His shock is that he probably thought he was going to a good team.

I do agree though.... Buffalo is one or 2 moves away from being a legit contender. They just need to trade half of their offense to somebody that has a good offense. And then trade their coach for a good coach.

Not knocking Buffalo. If Schwartz can keep that Defense running at that level, you're clearly gonna be a contender.

But Philadelphia is a proven contender, and will be most years. Also..Rex Ryan.

I've never been a big fan of his.

If he proves to be durable and not have the injury bug, then I'd agree. But I am sure the Eagles fan base is livid right now. I have a friend who's an Eagles fan and as expected he had no clue who Alonso was and was furious about losing Shady.

The trade was more about clearing money than anything. Shady was due $12mil, which is an absurd # for a RB no matter who it is.

It's also a good trade for the Bills because Rex can get the most out of the defense regardless and they needed more weapons on offense.

Could be a win/win for both, but I am sure Shady is pissed. Kiko is probably so happy.

Schwartz isn't our defensive coordinator anymore. He and Rex run totally different defensive schemes. They wouldn't have been able to coexist.

Kiko is a great talent, and I really love his game, but I feel a lot of people are overrating him at this point in his career. He has only played 16 NFL games, and he has had two major knee injuries and a pretty significant hip surgery. Longterm durability was a huge concern for us, and one of the reasons he was moved while his stock was hot. Nigel Bradham's play last season made this trade possible. He's a star in the making, and a great fit for Rex's defense.

Yeah, I dunno if I agree with that. If the Bills can have a few good drafts that they don't bomb on then maybe in a few seasons from now you might be there.

Better improve that O-line! McCoy showed last year that if he doesn't have a solid line in front of him he can't make a whole lot happen, especially when he does that mind-numbing east/west stuff(which rarely works). Like the Lynches/AP's/Murrays of the league.
Now wouldn't this be a nice little coup if Philly signed CJ Spiller when he gets released from Buffalo.

We would get younger and save money. I would not put that past the mad scientist: Chip Kelly.
