Jags have 65 mil in cap space and are expected to spend a lot on free agency coming up. There are talks in Jax that we might go after Suh, but I'm not sure if they're being serious. Earlier this evening they had a little gig on our local news station where Mark Brunell wrote a letter to Suh on why he should play for the Jaguars. Pretty funny, but I don't think Gus would go after him.

Titans are in the exact same boat as the Jags right now. Both teams have to overpay for big name players to come. We're equal. Hell, we have lost to the Jags six seasons in a row. That's how bad we've been. I know they're a division rival and all, but c'mon. We are basically responsible for half of their wins, as they were for us this season as well. They have good ownership now. Khan is legit... Wish we had an owner like that. The Jags may suck for a while, but he's committed to making serious changes. I hope Suh doesn't go there. I'd hate to be up against Watt and Suh... and Luck. While we have no one really (though I love Casey). |

Vince Wilfork posted on his Twitter account that he's been informed by the Patriots that they won't be picking up his option and he will be a free agent. There was no way the Patriots were going to pick up the $4 million roster bonus Wilfork was due so this isn't a surprise. He put a lengthy note on the post thanking New England and saying it will always be his home. Based on the tone of the note it appears the team also informed him they won't attempt to sign him to a new deal because it definitely seems like a goodbye letter. Wilfork says he has a lot left in the tank and still loves football but doesn't directly say that he'll be playing next year, so my guess is he'll see what the market is for his services is like and if there isn't a good offer he'll retire.

Maurice Jones-Drew announces his retirement today after 9 years in the league and 8 with the Jaguars. He's the Jags all-time leader in TD's with 81. He'll be missed, and one day he'll forgive the organization (mainly with Khan) and he'll have his number retired. Didn't look like Raiders HC Del Rio was going to keep MJD in the lineup, and he's been injured the past few years so it was probably the best since he's going to be 30 in a few weeks.
MJD is in my top 5 Jags of all time. |

Fred Taylor has to be #1. That guy was one of the most, if not the most, underrated RBs in the history of the NFL. I'm sure Jimmy Smith, McCardell, and Brunell are up there. |

I would think Boselli would be in the mix as well.

1. Jimmy Smith
2. Mark Brunell 3. Toni Boseilli 4. Maurice Jones-Drew 5. Fred Taylor It's really hard to rank them, but these are the guys I would remember the most on the team. My favorite player though has to be Jimmy Smith. He was always reliable when the ball was thrown his way. I love Fred Taylor too but there was a time when he was stamped as Fragile Fred and wasn't reliable earlier in his career. He might be one of the most underrated RB's ever in the NFL. He's still a top 20 in rushing yardage in the league. Just don't know if he's HOF bound. I also like Keenan McCardell, James Stewart, and David Garrard, but I wouldn't put them in my top 5. |
