PTI was discussing the necessity vs. milking of preseason. And as usual the guys failed to see it from the coaches/players perspective. The coaching staff use it to wittle down the roster, evaluate their guys, mess around with the playbook. It's competition lite but it's still competition.

That being said, I think it should be cut to two games. Not to add two more regular season games but two fewer means fewer things like what's happening to Benjamin.

Always goes back to $$ though - how do you replace the lost $$ from those 2 missing games then ?

A plan was to increase playoff field to 14 teams which would add 2 playoff games.

The huge tv $$ gained from that would be split among the teams - wouldnt totally replace all the lost $$ but would be a decent amount.

i like this idea

2 more playoff spots would make the end of the regular season more exciting

wild card weekend will weed out the teams that don't belong like they always do so no biggie, it's not like the nba where you still have to watch the crap teams play 4 plus games to get taken out

The playoff format is fine as is. It doesn't need any changes.

I wish they would cut back on the preseason games because I hate paying the same price for an "exhibition" game as I do for a regular season game. I would agree to a dynamic pricing schedule where the more desirable home games cost more than the less desirable (as long as it totals out to the same or about the same as the current total for a full season)

I couldn't believe how bad Washington's offensive line looked last night. RGIII's pocket presence is bad but whoever was playing quarterback last night against Detroit's first string was going to get killed. I watched nearly all of Brandon Scherff's games when he was at Iowa and knew he was a huge reach at #5 and he was constantly getting beaten by journeyman Tyrunn Walker.
