Defense actually came to play... Was nice to see 20-0 at halftime even if it is preseason.

I still think Mettenberger is a starting caliber QB in this league. I hope we hold onto him for at least this season before trying to trade him. In all likelihood our OL is gonna get Mariota hurt and we'll need Mett. And his value can increase with time.

Louis Riddick mentioning the Texans as a team to call us about Mett. Uhh no... We're not trading to a division rival who is a QB away from being a contender.
I'd gladly trade for Mett if I was the Jets (if his price is right)

I understand injuries are a part of the game. I also understand preseason only increases those odds.
As for off field accidents, that's just life, and can't be avoided.
Preseason can be avoided, everything else can not.

Packers are not a top contender without Jordy.
Davante Adams and Randall Cobb are still beastly but the gap between the Vikings and the Packers just got a lot smaller, especially with All Day coming back.

Vikings ?!? Really ?!? Umm I would think the Bears or Lions are closer then the Vikings, it all depends on Teddy and the receiving corps. All Day helps but the corp was bad last year.

The Bears are pretty bad (no offense, Bears fans). The Lions didn't get better this year, although Abdullah is pretty fun to watch. The Vikings got considerably better, and AP + Teddy + that Defense is going to be scary. I don't think they'll win the division, but I think they might make the Packers a little nervous.

[Show spoiler]The wild card on the Vikings is Mike Wallace. We've seen how childish he can be if he's not fed the ball, and now he becomes the #2 receiver on a run-first team. Hopefully it's nothing, but it could get ugly

The Lions on Paper may not look like they have gotten better but they have. If you have been watching them pre season when the 1st team defense is out there noone has been able to do anything against them. Ask the Jets and Redskins how scary our defense has looked. Granted yes its preseason, but the offense has moved the ball and the running game is there for the first time in years. The Lions O line is what has improved the most and that's what was needed.

PPL count out GB simply because Nelson went down honestly that's a huge mistake. Cobb is going to have a MONSTER year, plus GB has a good TE that they will use. Rodgers is good because he can like Peyton or Brady work with any receiver and make them better. The Division I can easily see both ways

Pack
Lions
Vikings
Bears

or

Pack
Vikings
Lions
Bears

May be over reacting since it's just preseason, but the Rams are gonna be awful this year.

The offensive line will be one of the worst in the NFL this league. The play calling will be terrible. Looks like the they'll struggle to score points, if these past two preseason games will be any indicator.

Probably finish last in the NFC West, even behind the 49ers who had one of the worst off-seasons of all time.

It's being reported that the Packers are expected to contact Reggie Wayne to gauge his potential interest. I'm not sure how much he has left in the tank, but he could certainly be a good veteran presence for that receiver group.

What is the word on Patterson in camp? Is he finally going to be able to put it together?

Haven't heard much about Patterson this offseason. And since this is the time of year everyone has "grown so much since last year" or is "uncoverable" or "training camp MVP", I take the deafening silence as a negative. From what I've seen in preseason games, he's the same old Patterson. Great talent who can't grasp the NFL system. He still has a roster spot because he can return kicks, but he's not a starting WR yet.

According to Adam Schefter Wayne has agreed to a deal with the Patriots. The Pats have had a lot of injuries to their wide receivers, with Edelman hobbled with a leg injury, Brandon LaFell on the PUP list with a foot injury, Brian Tyms likely out for the year with a foot injury, Aaron Dobson slowed by a hamstring injury, and Brandon Gibson potentially being out after getting injured Saturday.

I agree, no way the Titans trade Mett to the Texans. Although, if they did would JJ and Mett kiss and make up, then take a selfie together?

Has there been an official word on Jordy? Or are they just delaying the announcement for whatever reason? I don't believe this eliminates Pack from SB contention, just makes it more difficult.

Vikings are one of the up and coming teams in the league... Gonna be really good soon. I expect a wild card from them this season.

Bears are horrible. Lions got worse in the offseason... Vikings are the second best team in that division.

Only thing about the Vikings that worries me is their RT situation. Loadholt is out for the year, and I'm not familiar with whoever their backup is.

Ugh... McCourty is gonna miss at least a quarter of the season. Probably longer.

Outside of McCourty and Cox, we have no one at CB. Not good.
