There was never a chance they were going to try to re-sign him so it seems they learned from the Urlacher debacle that it's better to just tell the player he's out rather than make a lowball offer that the player finds insulting.

I can't stand Manning but this attack on him is a joke. These allegations are 20 years old and were widely reported when Peyton was at Tennessee. It's not like any new information came out. Shaun King, who has quite the controversial backstory when it comes to race, thought Cam Newton was being treated unfairly so he dug up on old story on Manning and wrote an extremely biased, one-sided story based only on the plaintiff's court filings which only give the trainer's side of the story. King didn't report any of Tennessee's response to the lawsuit even though that response was easily available on the internet. In the end all King was trying to do was deflect anger from Cam Newton to Peyton Manning, and it appeared it worked.

Shaun King specializes in racist articles. Its his role at that paper. Every article is anti-white. Idk what Manning did or didn't do but that's the story on King.

I took the time to read the NY Daily News article on Manning and it IS pretty damning. If those allegations are true, he basically ruined that woman's career and arguably her life.

The thing is the article is so one-sided that it's impossible to know what's true. A good writer would have put the effort in to show how Manning and Tennessee responded to the accuser's claims, but since the writer was on a smear campaign against Manning (in an effort to deflect criticism from Cam Newton) he took a document written by the accuser's lawyer and deemed it fact. Maybe at some point a legit publication will do a thorough investigation with both sides of the story represented, but this wasn't the piece and Shaun King definitely isn't the type of writer to write such a piece (seriously, research the guy, he's got quite the background).

I graduated from UT...

They always got defensive about this story and said it was nothing more than Peyton joking around mooning some girl in a locker room.

I've skimmed over some of the allegations and it doesn't sound good at all. I'll have to read up on it some more. But unfortunately, this isn't the worse news surrounding UT right now.

Not sure if you guys have heard about the other UT allegations, but it's disturbing. And honestly, it doesn't surprise me. I saw all sorts of horrible things in that cesspool. It's the Detroit of the south, and no one knows it. Couldn't pay me enough money to go back there.

I once upon a time met Butch Jones and Dave Hart (AD)... That night I told a lot of people that they were "pieces of sh*t." I got a horrible vibe from both of them. Also didn't like the Chancellor. Hope they all get sh*t canned and never get a job again when the allegations are proven true.

How serious are the potential allegations?
