Things seem to be getting a bit heated between the Philadelphia DA's office and police department over the McCoy incident.

The #Rams announced they have released LB James Laurinaitis, DE Chris Long and TE Jared Cook. That's a lot of contracts.

Long had the Rams biggest cap number for 2016, while Cook was 4th and Laurinaitis was 5th.

The Cowboys knew they were taking a risk when they drafted Randy Gregory, at a time when many teams backed off.

That risk has now been realized.

Gregory has been suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on substance abuse.

Gregory tested positive or marijuana at last year’s combine, causing the Nebraska pass-rusher to fall to the second round. The Cowboys insisted they had the right kind of support in place for him, though he apparently slipped through the cracks.

He was part of an offseason splurge on pass-rushers that included free agent Greg Hardy, now it seems unlikely that either of them will suit up for the Cowboys, at least for the first month of the season.

Gregory didn’t have a sack last year, derailed in part by an early ankle injury. But now, there’s another obstacle in the way of his comeback.

For Gregory to be suspended it means he's failed four drug tests in less than a year. After the first offense (for Gregory the failed combine test) you enter the substance abuse program, a second offense costs you two game checks, the third offense costs you four game checks, and finally a fourth offense results in a suspension.

If his next failed test was for marijuana he'd get a 10-game suspension. If his suspension was for anything else he'd be banished for a year.

I wonder if the cop that drove himself to the hospital might have gotten a bad tox screen? Hopefully he wasn't drinking, but if he was I could see how this might jeopardize the case. It has to be something pretty damning, against the police, if they are taking this long to just charge McCoy. Due process can't even begin until he's actually charged with anything, I believe.

Quick question: Is Greogry considered a "team leader", like Greg Hardy? He seems to fit the criteria.

I didn't even know Gregory got suspended but I knew it was a possibility. Hope he grows up, looking like a busted pick right now.

It's Peyton. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. He's such a class act that I admire so much. I would be greatly saddened if these allegations would turn out to be true.

But allegedly in a 1 hour, pass/fail course where attendance is the only factor. How does one do that fraudulently?
