Academic fraud 22 years ago? I'm certainly not a Peyton Manning fan but this stuff is getting ridiculous. Sounds like Shaun King, pseudo-journalist is scraping the bottom of the barrel yet again.

There are actually strict rules on drug testing which are very much in the players' favor. They test only once a year for recreational drugs in a specific time window starting on 4/20 (LOL). The drug testing system in the NFL is a bad joke.

NFL players are tested for recreational drugs once a year, during a window mandated by the collectively bargained substance-abuse policy. That window opens in the spring (this year, coincidentally, it’s on 4/20) and ends early in the preseason. But largely because of the cost of dispatching drug testers, the vast majority of players are tested during training camp, when they’re all in one place. All a player usually needs to do is make sure he pisses clean by the time he reports to camp, and once he’s tested, he can smoke as much as he wants for the next year.

If a player passes his one test, he won’t be tested again until the next April-August. One former medical personnel called it an “intelligence test, because it’s once a year, and you know it’s coming.” One agent quipped that players sometimes will throw “smoking parties” as soon as their testing is complete.

Yeah I read an article about how the league tests for Marijuana, and it seems pretty lax. You can have several offenses(bad tests) before you miss any games. I guess the league has softened its stance a bit now that Marijuana is, slowly, becoming legalized across the country?

They know they'd be suspending half the league if they did real testing.

LOL, I don't think he dug up this latest one, but it is getting ridiculous and I hope there is something more than "generally aware" by the time this thing is over. Give us something definitive or it'll be a waste of everyone's time.

LOL. He was right when he said during his last arrest that his NFL career was over.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14...ifth-17-months

Quote:
Former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle has been arrested for the fifth time in 17 months.

Randle, 24, was booked into the Sedgwick County (Kansas) Jail at 8:03 a.m. CT Sunday on charges of aggravated battery, possession of hallucinogens/marijuana and criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $100,000.

Earlier this month, Randle was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Irving, Texas. According to police, Randle had stopped at his ex-girlfriend's home around 3 a.m. local time, but residents of the home turned him away and called police. He was stopped, and the outstanding warrant was discovered.

Before all of this started coming out, I thought it was a bit odd they cut him mid-season but now it all makes sense. They probably know far more about all of this than they're letting on, too.

Why does the NFL seem to bring out the wackos? If you paid me what these guys are getting paid, I'm definitely not going to do anything to throw that away... especially not doing it 5 times.

It seems like you hear about this a lot more in the NFL than in the other leagues (excusing Jenrry Mejia in MLB). Is it just because of how many more players there are in the NFL? It obviously dwarfs the NBA, and you would have to add minor leagues for MLB to surpass.

Cro better get a new job quick, he's paying $336,000 a year in child support and his wife is pregnant with his 11th and 12th children.

Another solid signing! That's the fifth contract done in the last two weeks.
Getting back to doing business the Joe Banner way.

Get someone else to go and have them sign in for you, probably.

I saw the interview with King and Steven A Smith. King's deflections about why its wrong to blame him made me want to reach through the TV and smack him upside the head. No King, it really is wrong to use the plaintiff's side of the story as if it were 100% factual, and that does reflect badly on you, not necessarily Peyton.

Guess Al Davis won't draft him in his Fantasy League.

Well Al Davis is in the same place as Navster so I doubt he'll be drafting anybody. Kinda glad, have a feeling with all our question marks at wide receiver, there was a good chance we would've taken him at #4. It's exactly the kind of stupid splash move Jerry loves to make.
