Maybe Murray finds his game again, but I'm thinking he won't!
I believe the Titans will use him the way he wants. Ground and pound, protect Mariota. Let him be the workhorse.

Murray had perhaps the best O-line in 2014, with Dallas. Sure if Tennessee can replicate that, maybe...but even after taking Tunsil I see them needing more beef along that line. Plus he's knocking on the big 3-0, the dropoff age for most RBs.
We will certainly find out!
After being a doormat for, pretty much, ever...one would think the only place Tennessee can go is up?

Osweiler just left the world champions who have the best defense in the league. I would've said it's an awful decision to leave Denver no matter what team.

As for the part of your quote I bolded, I'm going to be completely honest here... I HATE hearing that. It's an excuse we always hear when people chase more money. If you're making millions of dollars a year, an extra couple isn't going to be enough to say "well I had my family in mind and wanted to make sure I could provide for them." I call BS. They can use that excuse all they want, but average Americans make less in a lifetime than what they make in a couple games.

I assure you... It's as lame an excuse as you'll ever hear.

Osweiler was going to make PLENTY of money in Denver. It was reported he was offered in the $16mil range per year... Instead he went and took the $18mil per year deal. Pretty sure he could've afforded to provide for every single person in his entire family off of $16mil. Could retire after one year and still provide enough for generations. So yea, I hate that excuse. And I honestly can't believe people buy it.

EDIT: ~$16mil/year with Texans. Broncos offered ~$13mil/year. Still all the same, but figured I'd correct it.
Who's going to turn down 5 mil to stay in denver. That would be insane.

So, what exactly is the Browns' plan here?

Raiders still in the running for Sean Smith. I hope we can bring back Donald Penn but only at the right price. We'll have a great offensive line on paper

Assuming they have a plan (which I think is a stretch), it would have to involve Joe Thomas & Josh Gordon. Seems like those are the only two players they're committed to right now.

We've restructured Murray's contract. It's less than what it was with Philly. I haven't seen the numbers yet, but it's expected to be cheaper than Ivory, Martin, Miller.

I agree that we will have to significantly improve the OL for Murray to have a big impact. He's more power than finesse. Holes have to be there. And that's exactly why I said when the Eagles signed Murray that it was a horrible fit. But Chip didn't understand that McCoy and Murray are completely different RBs.

Where are you getting the $5mil from? Total money in the contract?

Either way, I've always been a believer in taking slightly less money in an amazing situation that will increase your odds of playing all the way through the contract and actually making more in the long run.

See Albert Haynesworth and other greedy FAs... If Fat Albert took less money to stay put here, he would've made more money in the long run.

Hope sticking it to Denver was worth it... Would've had a lot more success staying in Denver than he will in Houston.

Side note: Jags signing Gipson is huge as well...

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I might pick the Jags to win our division. They've really been aggressive the past couple years. I didn't like the Julius or Ivory signings, but at least they're genuinely making an effort and aren't content with mediocrity.

I think we are currently in the process of proving that as well.

Murray is a diva, and that doesn't change. Have fun with that!
Again, glad we unloaded that contract!

Osweiler will make 21 million next season. Money > Success

You can't predict the future. As an unproven player, you would want to make as much as you can.

Exactly!
I don't care what tax bracket you call home, more money is more money!
Especially in the NFL where the prime earning window is not very large. I can't fault anyone for wanting to provide for themselves/family.

One weird year in a really awful situation doesn't make him a diva.

No one EVER called him a diva until his time in Philly... because it was never an issue and he was always seen as a great guy. He has a fresh start here in a system that will better suit him. Only time will tell if he's truly a diva.

The whole diva thing is coming from just about 100% Eagles fans. Haven't heard it from anyone else. Cowboys fans? Nah. They loved him.

Sounds like you guys are really targeting Elliot who has already complained about carries in college... So if that makes Murray a diva, then I guess you can expect Elliot to be one too.

Man, some of you guys sound so easily bought.

I guess if money > success, drug dealing and prostitution are appealing.

It's all about the guaranteed money. Osweiler essentially got a 2 year/$37mil deal in Houston. If he isn't getting it done, he's gone after the two years. Had more security in Denver. That's what I'm referring to.

Look at what Charles Johnson did to stay with the Panthers. Took much less money and is happier as a result.

I hope Osweiler fails for obvious reasons... He's a division rival. But I'd love to see him look stupid for leaving the best situation for him under a legendary QB turned GM who has been absolutely brilliant in that role.

EDIT: Broncos apparently offered $30mil guaranteed. Dude would've made more in Denver long term. I rest my case. He'd see all four years and possibly then some in Denver. Probably only going to see two years in Houston before he gets cut or takes a massive pay cut.

What security would he get in denver? If he played like crap in denver he would have been cut with less money

You're comparing a guy who made 68 million on his career with a guy that made 3.5 million.

Lol! In one post you're going on about players(for some unknown reason) leaving money on the table. Which is exactly what Muraay didn't do for the team that drafted him. Hell, he went to a division rival when other teams were in the mix for him, including Dallas. Then he cired to the owner after a huge WIN, on his new team because he couldn't do the job. That is textbook diva.
Sure maybe he plays nice, but the odds are he doesn't. A leopard doesn't change its spots.
I no longer have a horse in the race. I'm just a little bummed out I might have to actually watch a few Titans game this season!
Doubtful Philly goes for Elliot. Too many good OL and QB in that new #8 spot.

It's those wacky Titans fans I guess. It's tough down there!
He also uses felonious actions as an example of earning more money!

Anyone else thinking that Brock Osweiler's contract is like Matt Flynn Version 2.0 or something? Crazy.
