You're comparing a guy who made 68 million on his career with a guy that made 3.5 million.
I think you guys are completely misunderstanding what I'm saying.

What security? $30mil guaranteed. Opposed to $37mil guaranteed. Big whoop. But he had a much better chance of success in Denver, considering he was 5-2 as a starter there. So when I say more money, I'm saying he had a much better chance in a better organization to complete his entire contract than he will with Houston. That means more money in the long run.

You're acting like he had no offer on the table from Denver or something.

If he truly hated Denver and genuinely wanted to leave, I respect that. But if he bounced only due to money, I think he's asking for trouble on a team that's not on Denver's level.

Good luck to him learning a completely different system now and needing to do more to win games than he would have in Denver though.

Really, it was the "providing for his family" reasoning that triggered me. Again, that excuse blows. Does your family need $37mil to survive? Was $30mil not sufficient enough to live off of? Is he Kanye West?

That is textbook diva.
Sure maybe he plays nice, but the odds are he doesn't. A leopard doesn't change its spots.
I no longer have a horse in the race. I'm just a little bummed out I might have to actually watch a few Titans game this season!
Doubtful Philly goes for Elliot. Too many good OL and QB in that new #8 spot.
It's not so much that I get mad at players for leaving money on the table. I get that aspect of it. Always try for the most money... But do you really think providing for their families is a valid excuse?

You guys are acting like if he stayed in Denver he wouldn't be able to provide for his family. Lol... That's why the family reasoning is ridiculous. That's really my whole point. How it's not being understood that $30mil guaranteed is enough to provide for his kids and their kids and their kids and their kids and so on is really beyond me.

But I guess you guys are all high rollers needing $37mil to provide for your families. Kanye/Mayweather style. Lol

As for Murray, I said the exact same thing last year. Said he would've made more money long term if he stayed in Dallas. Was I wrong? Nope. He would have. But I think he learned a lesson and wants to come back strong from the disappointing 2015 campaign with a clown Chip running the show.

LOL! You apparently don't understand sarcasm. I was responding to a statement that said "money > success" to which I replied sarcastically... because it was an absurd statement. I guess teachers should all quit educating our youth because they don't make good money. They aren't successful because they don't make much. That's certainly logical. Once again... This is sarcasm.

So you're saying that Brock left a good situation with the SB champs who have the best defense in the league? Did it dawn on you that perhaps he had his ear to the ground, heard that a bunch of guys could be planning on cashing in/leaving the team to chase the big money in free agency (which is PRECISELY what happened) and decided to start anew in HOU with a team that already has some nice pieces on offense and defense not to mention play in arguably the worst division in the league? Sounds like a solid career path to me regardless of the pay increase involved. Von Miller a defense does not make without a supporting cast and honestly, I'd much rather play in the lowly AFCS and avoid the twice a season beasts that DEN, OAK and KC have been churning out as of late.

As far as your chasing money theory, none of us has an idea what financial shape any of these guys are in. Not to mention, this isn't the 70's or 80's where a lot of guys used to play the game largely for the competition and the love of the game while they got paid peanuts and took each other's heads off...this is a BUSINESS. If teams can cut a player/terminate their contract on a whim to save some money, then it's only fair that players can jump ship whenever they see fit/have an opportunity elsewhere to make as much money as they can to optimize their value. This is a what have you done for me lately business that can end a career on the next snap. Just like you say you can't believe people buy the "lame" money "excuse," I can't believe you still cling to an antiquated view of a league that has clearly changed in front of our eyes within the past 20 years once all of these huge contracts began getting doled out.
I agree for the most part, but it doesn't change the providing for family excuse being lame.

Now if we're talking $50k vs $100k, that's a different story. But if someone is gonna make at least $30mil and need to use the family excuse, they're just BSing to sound valiant.

Still absolutely believe Brock would've made more money long term in Denver. Much more likely to fail in Houston. Same thing with Murray leaving Dallas for Philly.

It's more like you ask a teacher to work in denver for 30 million or 37 million in houston. End of the day, you're still a teacher just teaching different students.

30 million is a lot for the average person, but you don't want average for your family, you want the best. And it's not just your wife and kids. You have you to think about your parents, grandkids and so on. At least that's how I see it.

What are babbling about? Money is money! Family is not an excuse, it's the highest priority in life! I can't begrudge anyone saying they want more for their family. Your logic is skewed because your basing it on your tax bracket. Very different than theirs.
Hope for your sake Murray is made partial owner of the team, and all plays are approved by him. Because that's what it's going to take. A few losses and/or poor games and DeMarco's smile will be long gone! The win Philly had in New England proved that he has to be the focus or he will cry a river. Best of luck with that time bomb!

Well, considering you can probably get Murray in the 5th round in FF, he might be worth a shot.

I just have no idea why you can't accept that Chip's system was horrible for him. Sweeps, halfback draws, etc... Not Murray's style. This was well documented before last season, but Chip just didn't get it.

So he's a one dimensional player! Lol!
Can't adapt? Hey, if that's the case, very much good riddance!
Matthews and Sproles had no problem.

So just throwing this out there, say Tennessee draws up the bulk of the offense to fit Murrays "running style"(whatever that means), and he still fails to produce? Worse, he fails to produce and they lose games? Much worse, he produces and they still lose games? Do you honestly expect him to be some type of Rah Rah guy? I find that hard to believe.
Oh yeah then if that all works out you still have someone prone to coughing up the ball.
But hey, we are definitely, 100%, going to find out! I've got my ready!

I wouldn't call him a one dimensional player just because he doesn't fit Chip's system. Most players don't fit that college crap system.

You clearly are not familiar with how bad our RBs have been in recent years. Yes, I'm aware our OL has been the prime issue, but even so... Our RBs have been awful even with holes opening up.

Even the Philly version of Murray is an upgrade, sadly enough.

Well that I can definitely agree with!

Every RB thrived in Kelly's system, except Murray!
That sure doesn't make Murray very versatile. Like an aging slugger that can only play DH.

I'd hate to be a Browns fan right now. They're just letting their best players walk and aren't even trying to sign anyone.

They can't afford to keep everyone. Miller is clearly their #1 priority.

I think you're overestimating Denver's team at this point. They've lost a ton of pieces in free agency and the playoffs have shown their wide receivers are no longer elite. If they lose Anderson they won't have a running game. Houston has a good core of players. The only pieces they're missing is QB which Brock is stepping into and RB which was addressed with Lamar Miller. Personally I think Brock is going to a team with a better chance to win at this point.
