As for us, we are actively searching for a QB. But don't confuse our sensible GM, who is being wise in not handing out ridiculous contracts to bum QBs, with yours, who gets his head slapped for the Rams' sloppy seconds
The Eagles made one of the worst trades I've ever seen, especially since Wentz and Goff could well end up being busts. It would take a true franchise QB to be worth what they're giving up and I'd say the odds are not good. There are maybe 10-12 franchise QBs in the NFL at any time and I don't see anyone currently of that caliber in this draft.

Rodgers was also late first round.

He slid while Alex Smith went #1(good job 49ers) because his throwing motion was too robotic. Whoops.

Now the Jets...there's a team in shambles. Speaking of the QB position, who is your starting QB? Geno Smith? Wahahahahaahahahaaahah!
Fitzpicktrick?

I know you're still incredibly bitter about the complete choke job the Jets did last season. They sure loaded up for a run...except they tripped coming out of the gate. Did I miss anything?
The Eagles are in really bad shape. Surely you admit that fact. Do you honestly think trading away the bulk of two years worth of draft picks to move up 6 spots to draft a I-AA project QB was a good idea? I was reading some Eagles fan forums today to see what average Eagles fans think of it and the vast majority seem to realize this is going to be a disaster.

As for Geno Smith, the guy was a 2nd round QB. It's not like the Jets reached on that guy and blew a high quality pick on him.

You don't give the kind of money you gave to Bradford to then make that trade to pick a QB #2, while also giving Chase Daniel that contract. Even if they trade Daniel for a 7th, they still are on the hook for 3M. Yay Howie!

Carson Palmer and Elisha Manning were pedigreed QBs that didn't have the laundry list of issues that Goff and Wentz have. So glad they'll both be gone before we pick so Jerry can't grab one.

Over a decade for Rivers and Eli. Even longer for Palmer...

Of course! I said right away that I didn't like the move, but it is what it is: which is a gamble. Every team does it, at some point.
I got all this same talk when an unknown QB coach became the HC in Philly and drafted McNabb #2. Let me guess you were one of four people that knew, at the time now, Ricky Williams would be a bust? Yeah right!
Of course hindsight will always be 20/20. I'm sure all those message board fans were giving their kneejerk reactions. As I said earlier, I wouldn't be surprised to see more to this narrative, like Bradford being traded after this season. Or Bradford getting hurt, then moving up doesn't seem like such a bad idea.
Just like every other team, in the draft, I will wait and see how it all plays out years down the road to know for sure.

My point being they were drafted high and didn't start right away!

Rivers only missed the first season because he refused to sign until just before the season started.

Bengals not starting Palmer remains stupid.

Eli was starting his rookie season.

And a lot has changed in 12 years. Top picks are too valuable to not get an immediate return.

But hey, maybe the Browns will end up with the top 2 picks next year!

Eli started week 10, oddly enough same week McNabb did. So again I don't see any empirical data that states slow playing a top pick QB is a bad thing!
Maybe they will, and we won't know how the pans out for years to come.

This is too funny

You are citing examples that are over a decade old from a game that no longer resembles the game that is played now. The rules have vastly changed to benefit a QB since those QBs were drafted. Your narrative is wrong because the evidence in which you are attempting to prop up your viewpoint is no longer relevant in today's game....

We'll be make sure to sign and then trade him to the Eagles for their 2nd round pick. I mean heck they need another QB for competition sakes
