What's even more interesting, and maybe this speaks to the current state of affairs over at Bristol, Jackson won't even stick around for the final year of his longtime friend Chris Berman.
I might be reading a little too far into it, but it seems like there might be more to this decision than we are hearing.

That's really a shame. When NFL Primetime aired 7:00 on ESPN back in the day, it was a show I never missed on Sunday nights. Boomer and Tom were the best at what they did together, just like Madden and Summerall.

I think I was in 4th or 5th grade (when I got into football), and watched them all through HS. I know they recently did small sessions on Sportscenter but it's not the same having their own show.

Loved it when WR Michael Jackson was playing for the Browns, and when he was involved in a play, Tom Jackson would go "HEEEE HEEEE".

Sad day. I grew up watching him, he almost feels like family.

My guess is that he smoked recently and he knew he'd fail it (and face the possibility of being out a full year), so he skipped it. I would hope that the NFL would immediately schedule another one to deter players from doing precisely that though, but you never know what the NFLPA negotiated.

TJ is the only one I could bear to watch on that show and possibly even that entire network. I've rolled with NFLN from Day One and never looked back.

Rams cut Nick Foles. Anyone know if Ron Jaworski is still beating his chest touting the greatness of Foles?

Hey, how about Foles to the Jets?

I'm sure the Niners and Chip will go after him now.

Really not remotely as excited as much of the NYJ fanbase is over this Fitz thing. I know Geno is Geno, but we already know what Fitz is...a journeyman QB who strung together the best season of his career in a QB-friendly system, with some nice pieces on offense, a good defense who STILL shat his britches in a playoff-clinching game against our former coach. Oh yeah, at $12M for one season and a year older. Awful.

I'm surprised you guys have him the number he wanted. I thought a compromise was expected?

After Chip traded him away? I'm thinking they might wait and pick up a potential cut, in Geno Smith.

As am I. I have yet to read the post-mortem report as told by Fitz, but my understanding is that there were multiple offers floated out there from our side and he was holding out for a market that frankly didn't exist.

And I get that, but after having my heart ripped out yet AGAIN last season (which is business as usual for this franchise), I'd almost rather tank with Geno to assess where he is and then react accordingly than to go through this season with Fitz and miss the playoffs anyway given our tough schedule.
