It's finally an interesting division... for now.

Hoping it becomes what the NFC West became. That was the worst division in football back in like 09 or so. Then it became the best by 2012.

I forgot to throw in Bortles, Carr, and Bridgewater in the young, unproven mix.

Would take Winston, Mariota, Bortles, Carr, and Bridgewater over Stafford.

Less sold on Bridgewater than any of those, but I was a big believer of his coming out of college.

Bridgewater can still improve. He's been on a run first team with some pretty terrible receivers. I'd like to see what he could do with some weapons.

Fair enough, I could agree with that.

I won't say I'm a Stafford hater, but I watched him throughout college since I live in GA and I never thought he was worth the amount of praise he received. Perhaps it was Richt's HCing, but that team always seemed to shrink in big games and their QB along with it.

After gutting nearly their entire roster of goons, I'm really surprised ESPN kept this asshat.

Dish Network and the NFL have struck a resolution to return the NFL Network/RedZone Channel to Dish. Dish had pulled the NFL Network in June amid a carriage dispute.

I just moved to a new house and wasn't going to stay with DirecTV because it had gotten too expensive and the discounts they offered weren't very good, so I was planning on going to cable but am now going to Dish. I would have liked to stay with DirecTV but the difference in price was over $500 per year (plus the cost of Sunday Ticket) and that was just too much in my opinion and I wasn't happy with their customer service. I just don't understand why DirecTV offers great deals to new customers but won't offer the same discounts to keep existing customers.

My friend switches between dish and direct every two years to get the new customer deals.

Prior to the merger, I expressed the same displeasure with DTV every year using the same reasoning and while it took some time being shuttled around from call rep to call rep, I never had a problem scoring NFL ST for free every season.

I don't know what, if any, streaming device you have, but if you opt to "cut the cord," both Sling TV and Playsation Vue offer the NFL Network, as well as Redzone. The Vue is available on most, but not Apple TV, where Sling is available, to the best of my knowledge, on all platforms, Apple TV included.

This conversation has really branched off from where it started and now people are arguing a point that no one is actually making. It started as a comparison between Geno Smith and Matt Stafford. I in no way think Matt Stafford is great. I 100% agree he is middle of the pack. Maybe as high as 12 or as low as 20. That doesn't really matter. He has started for 7 years and has thrown for 5000 yards twice. He has never had a good running game, defense, or coach which is why the wins and losses aren't great. That being said, the Jets (who are right there with the Browns as the worst QB franchise of the past 20 years) have no real interest in starting Geno Smith. That is how terrible he is. 99.9% of the managment in the NFL would take Stafford over Smith by a massive margin.

It's been spotty, but Stafford has had no excuses. We had a running game with Bush. Just a few years ago Detroit's D was 2nd ranked. The guy is an overrated jackass. Bush wanted a players only meeting as the only Super Bowl champion on that team and Stafford refused. Yeah, coaching has sucked. Jim Schwartz had 0 discipline. Lombardi was the worst OC last year. But that doesn't mean he should always be side-arming balls and being inaccurate as he is. It's a shame he's still around..

He had the 5th highest completion percentage last year. He was 8th in TDs and 8th in Yards. Again, I agree he is not great. But where was Geno Smith on that list? And I can name at least a dozen teams, if not more, that would be better off with Stafford at QB. By the time he is all said and done he is going to be approaching the top 10 list of all time in quite a few stat categories. You're telling me he shouldn't be a starter in the NFL? There must be some real bias behind that. There are some really bad or questionable starters right now. Mark Sanchez. Ryan Fitzpatrick, RG3, Blaine Gabbert. and quite a few others. I don't get the hardcore disagreement that he is an average QB who should be starting.
