Never do that, they want football straight through to the Super Bowl.

A whole week off with no revenue in the middle of the season? They would never do that.

Again the problem is tv.

Even now its so thinned out when theres only 9 or 10 afternoon games during certain bye wks - this would knock it down to only 7 games.

+ theres always some blowouts so would really be bad for tv.

Monday Night Football got a little over 8 million viewers last night. That's the lowest viewership ever for a Monday night game by over 400,000 viewers. The previous low was also a Saints/Falcons game in 2007. It clearly got clobbered by the first presidential debate. The NFL will be going head-to-head with the third debate on October 9th as well when the Packers host the Giants.

This is almost as golden as seeing Cam getting sacked 8 times. 8 times! I love it. See you Monday night OBJ.

Just saw the Panthers signed Michael Griffin. Good god I hope he doesn't actually get any playing time. Well actually I hope he does so that every NFL fan gets to see just how bad he sucks. Worst safety in the league... but our organization kept him around and gave him top 5 safety money.

It was affected by the debate more than anything. I work with a Saints fan that watched the debate instead.

I watched both at the same time

RIP to JJ Watt's career.

Texans dumb organization rushed him back and now he's never going to be the same. Idiots.

But roids will have this effect on the body, so it was only a matter of time.

Yeah it's a shame and why defensive end is a much more punishing position than most people think it is.

Giants C Weston Richburg, the 1st player ejected for two unsportsmanlike penalties, fined $12,000 for taunting, per source. He is appealing.

I wish I watched the debate instead. Trash performance by the Saints. Sean Payton was eager to pin the defensive problems on Rob Ryan. Sean completely forgot about 2013, where Rob Ryan turned that defense around completely. Strangely, the defense tanked in 2014 and 2015, and Rob Ryan was fired last season. Well, the defense is still as bad, if not worse. Dennis Allen was trash in Oakland, and hasn't done anything to help in New Orleans.

I don't know what possessed the front office to extend Sean Payton's contract. He's still riding off that 2009 season. What have the Saints done since? 2-3 in the playoffs, and back-to-back 7-9 seasons. We're well on our way to another 7-9 season, if not much worse. Even Jim Mora eventually had his day, and received a pink slip. Sean's time is coming, too. I hope our next head coach is primarily a defensive mind, because our current coach doesn't have a clue about defense.

Payton isn't the problem. The GM is the problem. I heard a stat that they have like 40 million in dead money on the salary cap and the least amount of players drafted by them on their roster in the whole league. You can polish a turd all you want but it is still a turd.

I can't argue with the GM issue. Is Peyton Manning ready to be an GM yet? We need someone.

Love that we signed Osemele away from the Ravens last Spring. He's transformed our entire offense. One of the meanest offensive linemen I've seen in a while. He's already talking shit about messing up his old teammates in Baltimore

That's going to be a good one this Sunday.
