I literally have no idea how you can possibly put Ditka over Witten definitively.

Ditka only had 5 really good years. He was basically a non-factor in his last 6 or so years of play, and he only played a dozen seasons total.

Even if you wish to claim Ditka's ceiling was higher, there is certainly an argument to made about Witten's longevity.

I wouldn't take Ditka, Gronk or Gates over Witten. Sharpe and Gonzalez I guess you could make an argument for but Witten's probably still got 4-5 seasons left and seems to have rediscovered his youth this year.

It could be argued one couldn't thrive without the other.

I don't know if Dak will get many votes for rookie of the year. Elliot should have it quite easily. No one has been close to his level amongst the rookies.

Yeah no rookie will ever win League MVP, there's a reason they have ROY. Zeke would have to break the all-time rushing record to even have a chance.

lol you're a cowboys fan so of course no objectivity, but Gronk and Gates were both explosive game changers. Witten has been steady but not eye popping and definitely not game changing talent.

You can't compare Ditka to Witten directly with stats, but he was a game changing talent of that era. Something Witten was not.

It's not just the ability to be game-changers or explosive. It's also reliability, overall production(which includes run and pass blocking) and being a leader. Been talking to other Cowboys fans about it, a lot of us think he's the new Mr. Reliable in the NFL(hoping he breaks Favre's games streak) and as I said in 5-6 years his stats will be even more impressive.

Game changing talent is of course a major factor. A guy who is just steady is great to have on the team, but you'd rather have that game-changing talent who also performs.

You're telling me you'd rather have Witten than Gronk at their peaks? Puh-lease!

True on this, gronk is the best te right now and has proven it. When he is not on the field defenses are but when he is on the field they are . He makes crazy catches and is very hard to bring down on the first tackle. Witten is a good te and very reliable but is not in the same class as gronk.
