Now you are changing the narrative lol . Just quit. When did I say Romo is not better than those 3 QBs? Please quote that, and I'll stop replying. What I'm saying is that he's not worth trading a high draft pick and then giving him an exorbitant contract to see him break down yet again. You need to come stronger than that if you want to debate me. Not just throw crap at a wall and hope it sticks
What they (or any team has to give up) isn't going to be as high as people think. Dallas doesn't need him and teams know it. As for the contract that is what starting QBs make. When you mess around and hesitate to pay your QB you end up having your starter miss all of training camp and ruin his season (a.k.a. Fitzpatrick). I haven't changed any narrative. The Jets QB situation stinks, has stunk (except for one season of Brett Favre who didn't get them to the playoffs), and looks like it will continue to stink for the foreseeable future. My point is, has been, and will continue to be that Romo would change that. You seem to keep arguing that for some reason and I can't fix or change your delusional thought.

Rapoport is hearing that Romo will have a say in where he goes, and that Denver has his eye.

Romo will, most likely, go to the AFC where they have the Designated QB rule.

They only save 5 million off the cap, so why would they trade him unless they receive good/fair compensation. And of course that means they would be in the market for yet another backup QB when they have one on the team already. Dallas also doesn't need to cut him either, and why would they make another team stronger when you don't believe you are receiving fair compensation. You changed the narrative from comparing him to Favre to then comparing him to all other QBs that played on the Jets. You are arguing a viewpoint that has not been countered by anyone on the boards. Yet you keep hitting the repeat button. Talk about delusion....

My point is that Romo is not worth the compensation to over pay him for his current contract when he has not seen the field in 1.5 years. You must not read so well because I have yet to write that the QBs currently on the roster are better than a healthy and whole Romo. But there's the rub: he hasn't been healthy and whole in years. I will continue to say to pass now and pass later on trading for Tony Romo. Thanks for coming!

Because they would free up a little money next season and lot of money afterward. Of course Dallas will try to get any type of draft pick, but teams should know that Dallas really doesn't have much leverage with this situation and can just wait them out. With McClain most likely done, Dallas is in dire need of LBs. That $5mil, alone, would go long way to filling the LB need.
There's a case to be made for either option(trade/release), and for keeping him.

You brought Favre up. I (and everyone else on this board) agreed that he would help the Jets especially since they haven't had a good qb in forever. You said they shouldn't go after him because he is old and cast off from another team and then said the Jets had a good QB recently when they had Favre. At the point I pointed out he was old and cast off. It seemed very contradictory for you to state Favre was a good fit for the jets but Romo wouldn't be. You have since taken it all sorts of directions and have been rude and insulting. All of my points are valid and agreed on by the majority. That doesn't make them guaranteed to be right but it certainly doesn't mean I am wrong for typing them in this forum. If you can't comprehend any of this I don't know what to tell you.

I did bring him up as a counter-point to the contention that Romo would be better than any QB that the Jets have had in the past several decades when Favre was and is better than him. I wasn't aware that Favre missed 1.5 years of playing time before QBing the Jets. Must have missed that period of time. May have been napping during that time. Forgive me if that is true as I was unaware of that. I said nothing about Romos age. You are adding viewpoints that were just not said. I have already stated that as such and yet you continue to put out that viewpoint. He's a castaway because he cannot stay healthy. I haven't taken it in different directions as I have stayed consistent in why I would not Romo as the QB of the Jets as my fellow Jet fan has also said. Additionally, let me know when Romo QBs a team to the NFC Championship as Favre did with Minny. I'll be glad to eat crow, but I don't see it happening.

I couldn't care less that a bunch of forum members think Romo is such an upgrade as over 70% of them are Dallas fans . If you cannot comprehend my argument, then I'm not sure what else I can say to you....

Minnesota's defense and Adrian Peterson were big factors in that run. What I took away from that game was Favre had them in position for their kicker to win the game in OT but he threw the ball instead of handing off or running for yardage. Cost his team the game and I bet the Vikings had a good shot at winning that Super Bowl which I think would've been against the Dolts. Oh well, that's why I never liked Favre, his penchant for INTs at the worst possible time.
