I would agree with you, and that's what they should do. But Cleveland can't draft. Giving them more picks, as they've done a few times recently, has not done them any good.

While Woodson has three rings, he was not "the guy" on those championship teams. Also Dawkins stats blow Woodson's away. So on could argue Dawkins didn't have as good a team around him but produced more.

Darren Woodson was a converted linebacker that (I believe) has our franchise record in tackles. Not to mention he was versatile enough to play slot corner, something most safeties cannot do effectively.

FWIW I thought Dawkins and Jevon Kearse were the heart and soul of those great Jim Johnson defenses but I never thought he was better than Darren Woodson. Always thought they were pretty equal in talent.

That's exactly why I think Michael Irvin shouldn't be in the hall, character and personal conduct should factor into the voting just as much as career accomplishments.

Lol! Kearse was a borderline bust.
Dawkins definitely had more talent as the stats show. He was largely all by himself, as Philly never had decent CBs. While Woodsen was surrounded by a wealth of talent. Not a knock on him, just that he's a victim of the teams success. Kind of like Joe Jacoby not getting in despite being on one of the best OL in the history of the game.
