I still remember that 1997 Michigan team. Tom Brady was the BACKUP QB on that 12-0 team. One of the best college football teams I've ever seen. Brian Griese and Tom Brady at QB, Heisman winner Charles Woodson at CB, Steve Hutchison, etc. Amazing team.

After 3 straight loses I can't say I'm not enjoying watching the Jets put a bit of a beating on the Dolphins.

I'll drink to that. Now if we can only beat SD next week and go into the bye at 4-3.

Every Bills fan I know hates Aaron Maybin but he's looked OK so far as a Jet.

Congratulations to overrated Darrell and his overrated Jets! If Darrell is the best cornerback in the league then why did he allow Brandon to have over 100 yards and stiff arm Darell? Best cornerback in the league, my butt!

If Darell is the best cornerback in the league like you said, where is his SuperBowl ring? I am waiting for your reply

I dunno about him being the best CB in the league but he proved to be pretty damn good in this game and in the game with the Cowboys.

That's for sure. The "Maize & Blue" shared the title that year with Nebraska...ridiculous to have co-winners.

While Revis might be a beast right now I'd love to see what he does with another team, and if he can produce somwhere else.

Since today is the NFL trade deadline, do you all think we'll see any (I'm not saying blockbusters) trades?

When speaking of an indidual player, individual achievements will normally illustrate what kind of player he is. In "Darrelle's" case, 3 Pro Bowls in his first 4 NFL seasons speaks volumes. Should he continue to improve each year, he will be wearing a yellow jacket on the stage in Canton.

There are many Hall of Fame players who don't have Super Bowl rings. Fran Tarkenton, Dan Marino & Jim Kelly are 3 QB's that come to mind. Would you also consider them to be poor players because they are without a Super Bowl ring?

u obviously have NO football knowledge.....football is a team sport. Reevis could pick every pass off sent his way but if the rest of his team plays like crap and can't win, what's he supposed to do??

should he play offense, pass the ball to himself and score all of the points??

on a side note, my buddy was telling me he read the other day that Woodson goes into McCarthy’s office every year and asks to play some offense during the season.

Playing in NY helps allot. Look at Namath judging by the 47 more INTs then touchdowns and losing record (62-63). Jim Harbaugh should be one of top qbs ever with more touchdowns then INTS (129-117) and only 7 more losses also only 1375 less yards passing.

I think his performance in SB III and the significance of the Jets win in a historic sense of the league is what makes him more highly thought of than say Harbaugh. Most people acknowledge that win as the main turning point when the AFL teams were given more respect by the NFL fanboys at that time. It also made the transition of 2 leagues into 1 easier. Plus it's kind of hard to compare those types of stats because they played in very different eras of the game.

It's possible there could be a minor trade or two but there aren't many players available. The Cowboys were trying to trade running back Tashard Choice last week but with Felix Jones injured they won't trade him now. The Raiders need a QB but there really isn't anyone available. The Bengals won't trade Carson Palmer and Kyle Orton isn't a big enough upgrade for the roughly $5 million he's still owed the rest of the year. It's possible the Eagles could move Asante Samuel or Dominique Rogers-Cromartie.

Excellent point. Beating the heavily favoured Colts in Super Bowl III probably cemented Joe's name in Canton. As you posted, his regular season stats were not "Hall" worthy...not even close.

I'd agree. And it works both ways too as in Namath's case you've got a guy who had bad/average stats but had an outstanding moment. But also guys who may never have had a moment (I.E. the Marino), but may compile stats can get just as much love.
