This lawsuit was filed in 2014. This reeks of shady memorabilia dealers looking for a payday. Maybe they get it, maybe they don't...but either way this seems like a slow sports day story. *yawn*

Memorabilia dealers are some of the scummiest people in sports, many with mob connections. I'd hire extra security if I were Eli.

Big news: Sr VP of Officiating Dean Blandino has informed the @NFL he's leaving to take a job at a network, sources tell @AKinkhabwala & me.

I wonder if taking a job at a network means he'll be taking a role similar to Mike Pereira's role on Fox. CBS could obviously use someone who knows the rules after the Mike Carey debacle. Hopefully the league replaces Blandino with someone with common sense who makes the rules easier to decipher, but most likely they'll just promote someone from within and stick with the status quo.

Edit: Multiple reporters including Adam Schefter are reporting that Blandino is expected to join CBS, but CBS Sports said in a statement that they're not looking to fill the rules analyst position and they're not having discussions with Blandino.

Reports are now stating Blandino likely will join Fox. This could lead to Blandino and Pereira both working college football and one of them working an NFL game on-site while the other does rules analysis on other games from the studio.

Aaron Hernandez was found not guilty of murdering two men in 2012. He's still in prison for life without the possibility of parole, so it doesn't mean much.

Man he needed these lawyers on the first trial. It would have been so easy to acquit him on those charges he dropped the dude off and left didn't know what happened to him. They didn't have a time of murder the crime scene was contaminated and boom he would be playing for the bills right now.

Sports Illustrated's Michael Silver reports the Raiders have reached a deal with Marshawn Lynch.
The Seahawks still hold Lynch's rights, so in order to join the Raiders, Seattle will need to release Lynch or work out a trade. Whatever route the Seahawks decide to take, Lynch to the Raiders is happening. The 31-year-old should slide in as the lead back for his hometown Raiders, but it's fair to wonder how effective he'll be after a year away from football. Lynch was tremendous in 2014 but looked sluggish in 2015 while battling injuries. Beast Mode carries signifiant risk heading into the 2017 fantasy campaign.

It's crazy they said he killed the oden guy cause he knew about these other murders. Not sure if that's bases for a retrial.

This verdict in no way impacts the guilty verdict in the first case. It just shows that the prosecution in this case couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Hernandez killed the men. The only way this case could have potentially affected the guilty verdict in the first case is if it was somehow proved that he was innocent of the killings.

Unless I'm missing something Eli had a legal contract with this memorabilia outfit. Their lawsuit has been ongoing for almost 3 years now. Unless Team Eli lets this thing go to court, where it could be easily dismissed, he could just write a check and it all goes away. Guy has a pretty stellar conduct record, which will be taken into consideration. So I don't see him getting suspended.
I just don't see what Eli has to gain here. It's not like he turned around and sold the stuff in the stadium parking lot.
As for Christie, he's a Dallas fan, which makes him a bigger joke than he already is. He needs to stop worrying about football and focus on governing New Jersey.

Hernandez lawyers haven't exhausted all appeals for the 1st case, this will still go on for a few more years.


Talking about schedule I had HOU @ NE for the opener but since Romo is not with HOU its unlikely to happen. My second option would've been the Chiefs but like people said here it would be a snoozer so it feels to me more and more like a divisional matchup for the opener (which would also be a snoozer).
